If anyone has the time to do my clan sigs then use the email in my sig-its also my msn-that way Im not always asking in here and annoying peeps :D
 
Il scrap my old plans of a sig, must have been being too specific, Il leave my next sig open to your imagination, perhaps a retro computer game screenshot, like Street Fighter 2, The finish him scene from the original mortal kombat for those that know what im talking about?? Also like halys sig of a mario level. Dont worry about putting my name or anything else in the sig, just a pic will do. Many thanks in advance :)

you could use the polygon lasso to select the section you want to cut out of the white layer....make the white layer slighty opace to start to see what your cutting out to see....then use the lasso tool and select it then hit delete and up the opacity again

or use the eraser tool with a hard edged brush to delete the selection you want
 
sorry ive got another question. if you have two sperate layers, is there any way to blend the colours of the two layers together wihtout losing any image that is on top (ie increasing the tranparency)

I always use the magnetic lasso tool to cut out objects with a little bit of feather
