The One, the Only Street Figheter 2 Arcade thread

I do like XBL - but most of the time i prefer playing on my own and doing my own thing, i find multiplayer better when your opponent is next to you, there are exceptions i was a big CS/CSS player back in the day - but no console game has truly grabbed me to play online consistantly yet.
I hate playing on my own, it just seems so pointless and incredibly anti social to me.

Same game. The japanese version was called Street Fighter II' Turbo Hyper Fighting. Typing 'turbo' is easier than typing 'Hyper Fighting'

Learn something new every day :)

I finally caved anyway and ordered some MS points. Any one know where I can get the hori doa4 stick from?

Fair enough, and i think you've made that point quite clear - your continued attitude towards is becoming a bit tiresome though - i dont mean to offend ya, but you seem to put a downer on a lot of threads, i know its only your opinion which is all good but it has become a lot more apparant :)

I dont think gaming on your own is entirely anti-social though, sometimes i prefer single player, other time i enjoy multiplayer - put internet gaming is still not as much fun as your opponent in the same room - so must have the multiplayer i do is with friends round. And as i stated theres been no realy 360 game that makes me think "hmm i well wanna play that online right now" - except maybe GRAW but even now ive gone off that a bit.

Even in games that are made as single-player, are story driven and a hell of a lot more fun than multiplayer?

It's hardly 'pointless'. It's also not anti-social, it's not meant to BE social, therefore can't be the opposite.

I wasn't arguing, I was stating a fact that Single Player games are made for playing on your own, therefore they can't be anti-social.

On the topic of SFII, it's stupidly difficult, even on 0 stars. I've never been a master of Street Fighter games, but I've never had a problem completing them, even in the arcades!

It's an opinion kid, and therefore cannot be wrong.

I'm not offended in the slightest :)

thats retarded... they're both as equally antisocial as posting on internet forums. :p
It used to be but it's far too mainstream to be making comments like that nowadays. I always have mates round playing games after a night out or a day playing football.

You're an uppety little puppy at times aren't you, I really don't like your attitude on these forums this past week.
What you class as opinion is fair enough, however, what I say stands true.

Hitler's opinion was that the Jews should be exterminated - was he right?

Opinions can be, and are frequently wrong. The point is seeing when you're wrong and accepting it.

uppity? I'd be a very pathetic person indeed if anything said on an internet forum upset or annoyed me :p

Unlikely, as Fei Long, DJ, Cammy and T-Hawk didn't appear until Super Street Fighter 2.
I know, it was a joke...

I thought i was going to see the Hyper and Perfect world champion achievements then when i clicked your sig. ;)

I've been so close to both now. I've got to Sagat without losing a round, and to Bison on one credit. Bison always hammers me. It's so annoying. I just can't find a good strategy for him. In the arcades, i'd never miss a special move. Something which is impossible for me on a 360 pad, which leaves me to be pounded into the ground.

yeah same here !

most moves are just lost on the 360 Pad

the trick with bison is to jump vertically and hard kick when he comes for you if you hit fireball his ass soon as you hit the floor it'll dizzy him jump and throw then repeat usually though he gets wise and just walks up and throws you GRRRRR

i used to own a games shop back when this game was hot and had the actual cabinet on rental and all i did most of the day was cane it ;) thats how i got so good at it, i could complete that without losing a round easy on the hardest level but with this pad hmmm a bit more practise is needed but i'll get there

EDIT : just had a go and did it without losing a match and got 2 perfects so another 2 achievments ;) ! Bison beat me 1 round gaaaaa off we go again

This games good on sp mode but online its pretty pathetic. I can count on 1 hand the amount of games ive had where lag wasn't the factor in winning or losing, got to love when ken and ryu jump in wuith a heavy kick and immediately go to a heavy sweep and you get hit by the sweep despite the fact you're hitting diagaonally down and back.

Online its more of a luck fest than anything, occasionally you get games with minimal lag but sf games imo require a ton of precision and any lag at all can be the difference between a combo coming off or you standing there like a tool throwing a light punch for what was supposed to be a dragon punch.
