The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Keep reading the following posts... :p

I did after I posted and my post still stands. It wasn't an option because it only came in to play if some external reason cuased the deal to fall through. He would have been sued by Twitter and it would have cost him billions.

The engineering issues though I suspect are the opposite the female engineer posted I suspect is right and Elon doesn't have a clue/hasn't yet grasped the framework she mentioned, ditto to the guy and the Android issues, though there perhaps is a bit of "well ackchually" going on in that case, Elon might have a bit of a point in the general case re: what have you done to fix this?/Why is it so slow? Even if he's completely fluffed the details.

Ah, Elon's been a douche here and fired the Engineer who piped up, that Engineer actually did give a good breakdown of the issue unfortunately it was buried in the replies after the little bit of posturing.

The guy has a god complex. Once his Elon bros jump in on that engineer and tell Musk to fire him he does exactly that. He seems to revel in the power he has and airs it all for entertainment on Twitter.

Doge - looks like another phishing scam, apparently the method by which many of the fake verifications were generated (your account has been compromised log in and give us your pswd)
like the Americans & Zelenskyy forewarning people about Russian misinformation, Elon should have been one step ahead.

One can only imagine this is a deliberate tact to cut the wage bill without having to pay severency. Pretext to rename twitter.con X.com? It's not showing Elon in good light here. I've always thought of Elon as one of the good guys but he's shown me some new colours here

He's never been a good guy, just very, but specifically, intelligent. As a human, he's a mess.

Like you, me too…and honestly up until last year, i thought he was just some rich guy doing tech things but instead of like Zuckerberg who sell user data, he actually makes real life products, the cars, Space X, even that crappy fake flamethrower thing. The guy memes and is good at it and seems to be quite funny at times…then one day i heard on LTT Podcast where Linus said something about Elon that stuck with me. He didn’t go into much detail and i am sure he knows more about Elon than I. Linus mentioned something about the lines of that how a man treats his family is a reflection of the kind of man he is. And Elon has like 9 kids…from several different women, and many of which is a female worker of companies he recently acquired.

Office romance happens…whatever but the bit about how a man treats his family is a reflection of a man he is…that line stuck with me and from that point i looked at Elon with a more sceptical eye.

Since his Twitter takeover he has really start showing his true colours.

To be fair I suspect that engineer already wanted to be let go (if he quits then presumably he doesn't get the nice payoff), the result of the public spat included some Reddit VP directly asking him to DM etc.. so he'll have plenty of firms reaching out to him now, it got a lot of visibility and he'll likely have a potential promotion or the very least multiple job offers to play off against each other and get a sweet pay rise out of (in addition to the 90-day severance package).

It isn't actually clear the Engineer was necessarily right, Elon's not tweeting in isolation I guess, what he's tweeting is based on what he's been told by other Twitter employees too:

No doubt had something written into his contract for just that type of behaviour.

It's an at-will state, they can sack whenever but I suspect this guy will get the regular severance payoff, though in the grand scheme of things the visibility it got mean he's got multiple job offers now at companies he'd much rather be and that's the real pay off... multiple offers is always worth a lot, especially in today's climate when he'd otherwise be a random unknown engineer competing among the various other newly laid off engineers.
