The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

I never claimed not to care. Everyone should care. He’s running for POTUS again and is a danger to western society and our defence-NATO. Only a fool wouldn’t be concerned. With Trump in power Russia would have already taken Ukraine, to keep it thread relevant that is something Elon appears wouldn’t be overly bothered about.
Ahh, the old pearl-clutching and hand wringing about something that can never be proven, it's just as likely that he would never have invaded Ukraine as it seems trump held him in check. Or was it a secret trump/putin ploy to only invade countries under democrat presidents? But yes, this has gotten off track, although I do hope that unwashed potato fella can link me the video he claimed was out there, otherwise it does look like he was the one suffering from memory issues.

To keep it on track, that Twitter eh, must be blowing up soon right? After all so many 'ex employees' and 'experts' claimed it would as soon as all those employees were let go..

I’ve never said Twitter was going to blow up.

But the idea Trump held back Putin when Trump was in the palm of Putin’s hand is frankly laughable. Genius for invading Ukraine, desperate to get him back into G7, believed him over US intelligence. You’re just making yourself look foolish at this point.

i didnt claim he did 100%, more an extreme point to your silly ascertain that trump is a danger "to western society and our defence-NATO", the same NATO that did pretty much sweet fa regarding Russia invading both Crimea previously and Ukraine currently? Christ you're like the CNN of OCuK, hyperbole and outlandish statements to ratchet up the likes and seal clapping.
Thanks, just spit coffee all over my desk.
Maybe you should try drinking a cup of coffee like a normal person instead of drooling all over the keyboard :)

Why would NATO defend a country that isn't part of NATO?

For the common good.

NATO knows that an unchecked Russia is a threat to all the neighbours on their border.

Putin can play the long game, a bit here, he gets away with it, a bit there, he gets away with, another little bit here and there and suddenly the old USSR is rearing its Ugly head.

Putin is everywhere, Ukraine making the stand and not folding under Russia's might has stopped him in his tracks, lucky for us he is not the superpower that would take Ukraine in 3 days like he thought, really thought he was.

NATO countries know this is a stand they can't let Ukraine do on their own as although they put up a good fight without NATO's help they would have folded long before now, our aid and weapons have undeniably been the difference between Ukraine still being in this fight or not.

It's not just Ukraine we are saving, if the took that it's a small step to all the other non NATO countries on their border, which they make no bones about them wanting to take them next.

Yea, but technically its not NATO helping, its a bunch if independent countries that happen to be part of NATO sending them stuff lol.

Yes the EU and NATO weren’t interested in 2014. This isn’t 2014 though, it’s 2022 and this time the EU and NATO countries were very interested but without the US/Biden leading the way there wouldn’t have been the weight to push the Western world and the EU to sanction Russia and support Ukraine. The likes of Boris couldn’t have done it without Biden/US.

When Russia invaded Trump was quick to compliment Putin. Tells you everything.

There is a Ukraine and Trump thread for this chat though.

Wasn't the UK one of the first countries to send weapons to Ukraine?

Saying Putin was a genius was a dig at Biden not a compliment to Putin, I know nuance and subtext is complicated

Saying Putin was genius was a show of how politically indept trump is.

I know politics is complicated and all, but trump messed up. He gave his opponents a great sound bite to use against him, and his enemies a great sound bite to use as propoganda.

Politics is harder for some than others clearly.

Also, I guess you were in trumps head at the time and hence why you can speak for him now :p

you found that video yet?

It looks like some of the useless staff Twitter got rid of were the payroll people.

Apparently the remaining staff in various countries are getting their pay late/random amounts and it appears to be being done individually rather than as the more normal batch process (presumably the people that knew how to operate the automatic systems didn't write enough code of a high enough quality).
Pretty predictable when Musk laid of entire departments including things like HR.
