Tell that to @Roar87 who instantly started repeating Elon's version if the story. Hopefully a lesson learned from this. Elon will repeatedly make his defends have egg on their face
I think someone wants Elon's **** on their face for sure.

Whataboutcorbyn?I take it the folks on here going in so strongly on that story are now going to ignore this revelation entirely?![]()
What I don't understand is just how bad Elon has got at PR since he announced his stake in twitter.
He's famously not had PR depertmants, and famously gotten so rich from his own clever PR over the years. And that appears to be a significant amount of what Elon has done. PR rather than actual results.
But lately he's just terrible at it.
I for the most part agree with the 1 day delay of posting real time information that can track someone's location. 1 day old makes no difference to the point of the sharing of that information so fine it can be done.
However, Elon had to Elon it and do it in such a stupid way.
If he had only come out and said "we are continuing to let elonjet and like share this information, however had decided to require 1 day delay for safety reasons. We want to keep the ability to freely share information on twitter while balancing the safety of the individuals location."
Then that would be accepted. However he didn't. He comes out with this" antifa are trying to get me and my baby, I have to block the location of my jet to protect my baby. Someone hunt this attempted murdered down"
It's the same with pretty much every change he's ever done. The optics just look terrible. A billionaire firing half the work force just before Christmas in such a heartless cold cut throat way?
Blue tick that's paid for, price changes at a whim, retracted, start a public fight with apple, goes and grovels for forgiveness, brings it back. People still don't understand it.
He's just a mess and it is amazing the change of how he used to do things. The cyber truck being a great example, even with the breaking window at the announcement event, he still got great PR from that because thars what Elon was good at.
Not any more.
Is it just a case of realising the emperor has no clothes? Or has he lost it, money and yes men have got to him and he's now got that idea of "I'm always right so go with it" rather than thinking how it will be perceived.

When he was only running SpaceX and Tesla, his audience was engineering and space nerds who appreciated his achievements with those companies. I think since the 'pedo guy' comments during the cave rescue, more of the mainstream population became aware of him and they didn't particularly like what they saw. Buying Twitter and then running it in such a chaotic manner has tanked his image even further with all but the hardcore Elon faithful. What I don't understand is just how bad Elon has got at PR since he announced his stake in twitter.

If that's just a combo of trying to get that journalist woman + sacking off the Mastodon links (but including a few others so as not to make it too obvious) then LOL
I guess the link aggregators have to go too if banning those else it's an obvious workaround but surely he's gotta reverse some of this rule or tweak it a bit
To be fair to Elon, that guy does sound ******* unhinged though.
"Grimes is sending him coded messages" and "Elon is stopping Uber eats sending him orders"?!
But yes, it's more that he is hanging around where Grimes lives than anything to do with plane tracking.

Direct democracy, very rarely a great idea!It is honestly bizarre that he is running Twitter polls to determine the direction of Twitter rules and employment decision.
All part of the 9D chess he's playingso the poll has finished and he’s voted out. What did he expect to happen? Didn’t the poll on reinstating the journalists tell him anything? I actually voted remain as it’s just so damned entertaining.
I wonder who he will put in charge.so the poll has finished and he’s voted out. What did he expect to happen? Didn’t the poll on reinstating the journalists tell him anything? I actually voted remain as it’s just so damned entertaining.

He was clearly changing ceos anyway, nice way to get the people to think they have a say in the matter.
I guess the issue is working out how much of the silly stuff he posts is genuine or not. The issue is felt by his investors because he's broadcasting to the world. This twitter stuff has definitely damaged his personal brand to some degree.
