If you are playing Super Metroid for the first time I bet 99% of the players never completed it in 2 and a half hours.

you see I agree , many games I've played in the past and it'd take me a while to complete, then on a second run I'd finish the whole game in like half the time in some cases...

once you best a game, second runs do tend to be a lot quicker for the average player... cod 4 which had a ridiculously short single player campaign took me around 8 hours to finish on normal mode as I was at the time new to fps on consoles, played it through on a Xbox 360 coming off the back of playing games like unreal, quake and half life , medal of honour on a pc using keyboard and mouse. got the game again for ps3 when I traded the 360 in for a ps3 and cod 4 took me less then 4 hours to finish, on normal mode.

Tbh I sometimes don't mind seeing the end credits sooner, my time is sort anyhow.. sure 300 hour epics like skyrim are great, but i've got no issue with shorter games anyhow..
 
A French site named "jeuxvideomagazine.com" has released their review a little early and they've given the game 15/20 equivalent to 7.5/10.

Good score in my opinion.

Was going to get this one at release but I've lost interest a little, will wait for other peoples thoughts and some reviews first. Will probably be nice and cheap fairly soon.
 
Guess we'll find out soon enough how good/bad, short/long, it is when more reviews start hitting the net.
 
Really looking forward to this and have it pre-ordered for £42 which was the cheapest I could find.

a lot of people saying it is a mix between Gears of War, Uncharted and Heavy Rain. All great games imo so if it is even half as good as these games I will be happy.
 
Just got the ShopTo dispatch email through, yay. Games which go on too long with time-filler padding bother me more than short games (unless they're abruptly short) so a quality 5-8 hour game is fine for me.

You encounter the final boss earlier in the game and it recyles the animation/fight scene?

Not that big of an issue tbh, more concerned that the game is really short with hours of unskippable cutscenes.

Its not the issue of the same monsters, its them reusing the same cutscene, indicating the studio clearly cut corners. The main campaign can be completed in 6 hours (A youtube account showing a guy playing the game normally and who completed it in 6 hours was shut down by the devs) and yet this is a "AAA" game?

This and Evolve are a complete disgrace on gaming, regardless of platform.

Nemisis off resident evil 3 springs to mind as the worst offender, but that was a very good game:D
