The pain of insurance (WRX)

What gets me is recently had an accident.

I put it wasnt my fault and then it was my fault and guess what/

Yeah, saying it was my fault make it increase LESS than if it wasnt my fault.

Modern cars are hard to steal, so most are stolen by dint of someone breaking into the house and taking the keys. If the car is in the garage of the house you've just burgled, it's easy to find. If it's someone on one of the streets outside, it may or may not be easy to find. I assume this is the reason why street parking is now cheaper.

Just say your a doctor ;) haha joking

I know a lad who's 22 with 1 years no claims and a previous ban who gets quoted £1800 for a 56 reg hawkeye sti, only that low because hes a mechanic who lives in the middle of nowehere.
You can be the most responsible person in the world but some things will always hold you back insurance wise. :(

I have a WRX 2002

My insurance last year with 2 years driving experience and 2 years NCB was £950 (I'm 29)

This year with an extra years NCB and the best quote I have got is £1350. Insurance not due for a few months, but I checked if i was to insurance now with an extra years NCB.

I know it's gone up loads, just dont see how your quote is so high to be honest.

for proof:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Just re ran with a 1999 MR2 Turbo and it comes out at £1133.59 with Admiral...

R33 Skyline GTR comes in at £1698.57 Admiral...

Vauxhall Astra VXR £1168.57

200SX £989.43...

Mazda 3 MPS £1061 with AXA

I wouldn't bother with a WRX at your age if that's the insurance then! I would reconsider the car!

However, give Keith Michaels a call and ask for Gary Moleson. Subaru insurance specialist.

When I insured with Bell, it was cheapest to have it parked in the road. Only by about a fiver mind, but still, bit crazy that garage is the most expensive, and street was the cheapest.

It's a comparison site, they only work for 50yr old grannies driving Jazz's.

Try a specialist insurer.

With 5 NCB zero points, zero convictions 7,000 a year miles i mean thats not terrible statistics is it?! Sometimes i wish i didnt live in Oldham. Well, most of the time actually.

Oh yea and i missed off the stupidly overpriced £8,000 quotes they were beyond a joke. i get the message tesco, you dont want to insure me for $%^&

I tried them comparison sites the other day. My renewal is £590 for an import mx5. 28 y/o with 6 points and 8-9 years ncb. Cheapest quote was £800 odd, most expensive, by a long shot, was £18000 (eighteen thousand pounds!!)

Cars worth about £1200-£1500!

Jesus!

I'm 19 with 1 years NCB and a fault accident and my quote is £850 on the car I am seeing tommorrow, 4th one.... looks to be the perfect car. We'll see. So did the white one tonight! aha.

I've just been running a few quotes for my WRX and most places are coming out about £150 more than I was paying for this year at around £650 with protected NCB :(

Haven't tried the specialists yet though, will do nearer the time if I've still got it :)
