Firstly, happy Christmas everyone, however I have a couple of problems relating to my hardware. The problem is that when I run some programs to check if my setup is good enough to play games, it gets everything right apart from the VRAM of my GPU and doesn't show the make or modal of the GPU. Instead it says that I'm using a 'AMD ATOMBIOS' and that I am only using 16MB of VRAM. How do I sort this out, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Soundslike you using the built in igpu and not the actual graphic card,be sure to plug monitor display cable into the gpu and not the motherboard

And set peg or pcie as first display in BIOS

wazza: Asus M5A99X Evo doesn't have built-in iGPU as well as FX-6300 :)
I'd rather update BIOS to the newest revision and update drivers (chipset & graphics).

The chip has igpu doesn't it? And display ports on the board is what I meant,if not then fair enough as not sure on amd

@op have you set the display device as the graphic card peg/pci-e in the BIOS? Do that as it will still use the igpu and not your gpu

I don't think so but there is a chance that it does. There are no display ports however on the motherboard... So I'm kinda stuck on what to do

Gpu is working then if its connected through that, install latest display drivers for the 7870 if you havnt already

Do I get those drivers from the original CD that was supplied with the GPU or do I have to go and find them on the XFX website? That was a very helpful tip by the way, thanks
