The perception of time.

wut.

That's like saying mavity is not real and it's a man made concept...

Time in its simplest form is simply Entropy. It doesn't really 'exist', but the fact entropy is only one direction (the only law which does so) allows us to use it as a measure of time.

Anyway, no, time isn't getting faster. What's happening is the longer we live, the more you do the same things day in day out, and the memories all begin to blur into one. Start taking a bunch of holidays or do exciting things and suddenly you'll find time will 'slow' down again.

It's all in your head.

I'm 27 and I feel this way.

Ditto.

Sometimes drive home form work on a Friday, and think "where the heck did that full working week go?!"

I'm amazed it's almost christmas already (well 3 months, but at the rate the first full 9 have gone it'll come round very quickly).

True - and in a similar notion, mavity is a result of the curvature of space-time caused by mass/energy.

Either way I don't think it's accurate to say that mavity (or time) isn't real :p

I think my issue is that I plan for 3 weeks ahead in work and before I know it the third week is upon us and I am another 3 weeks in front.
I just turned 38 and have a 15 year old lad and a 10 year old girl - when did this happen, they were my babies a couple of weeks ago.

It went by much faster before I was born, but don't worry the universe ends when you die.

Here is a nice article on the perception time. Worth a read and seems to explain a lot.

The more detailed the memory, the longer the moment seems to last. “This explains why we think that time speeds up when we grow older,” Eagleman said—why childhood summers seem to go on forever, while old age slips by while we’re dozing. The more familiar the world becomes, the less information your brain writes down, and the more quickly time seems to pass.

When you're a kid you spend most of your time looking forward to things which is why it seems time goes so slow. When you're older you spend most of your time dreading the next big birthday.
