The PlayStation 'HOME' Information Thread!

Home is just going to be awesome, I really can't wait for it. The fact they are implimenting things for older titles really goes to show what they could be capable of.
 
Well will this beta incorporate the 2.4 firmware or i wonder if the 2.4 update will be out by then.

GT5P states voice chat as one of its features which is due out on the 28th March this beta is due the 19th if the countdown site isnt fake mmmm, mmmmm

Mmm interesting thread this just go tmy ps3 about 3 weeks ago. In a nut shell is home coming to rival xbox live?? Anyone care to tell me in a nutshell what it is

Its not to rival Xbox live as the firmware 2.4 (supposed to be out in the spring) is supposed to give you the same functions of Xbox live, according to Sony.
Home is kind of a the sims/second life/youtube/facebook/ game launching portal, its pretty hard to define in simple means. Imagine a MMO type enviroment where you can walk around talk and interact with people (face book), play games such as pool, bowling, etc. You can also make your own avatar and "home" and fit it out with TVs, sofas, think kinda like the sims. From here you can invite friends around to show movies on your hard drive (youtube) or photos. You can also have a "clan" room where your clan can meet up and chat about games, tactics etc then from there launch into the game (acts as an interactive game lobby). There is also a Trophy room where you can show others your gaming acheivements, extra items such as new clothes , furniture can be bought for money (microtransactions), or as a reward for completing games. There will also be game related rooms (see earlier in this thread) where certain developers may use to advertise there games by giving you some kinda mini game eg fifa 09 a penalty shoot out or something. Its going to be free to download and to use and will be paid for with advertising and microtransactions for those who want a nice new TV or a biiger "home".

rumoured for Nov 19th but promised before year end. Being a beta tester your not missing much unless they add a ton of content, not fired the beta up in weeks...
