Of recent I've returned to my gaming routs Nintendo but it's not to say I always disliked the Playstation series. When the first Playstation came out I thought it was great Teken, Ridge Racer, Soul Blade (Soul Edge), Resident Evil and so on all these games were fresh and new and I really enjoyed the playstation back then. I've been trying to put a finger on why I completely hate the Sony's consoles now but it's really hard. I'd say the first few years of the first Playstation for me were Sony's finest moment in console gaming.

i'm gonna agree with you there (though i don't hate sony, just not too interested in them)

i came from a megadrive like most people did to a psx and it was a truley awesome step. There was something about it that just seemed better than its competition (didnt really know much about the dreamcast and N64, was probs part of *** "joe public" then lol)

but since then i just haven't had an interest in the playstation brand, really not sure why, just feels like it lost that *thing* it had with the psx that made it great. infact nothing from the last war actually got my attention console wise. its only till the 360 came out that i really got back into console gamin

I would agree with that only the games I would choose are Final Fantasy 7,8, MGS, Resident Evil 2 and Silent Hill.

Sony are a victim of their success a little, people enjoy sticking it to the man lol.

Porsche Challenge, Ridge Racer, Crash Bandicoot, Tekken are all games i will always love because of the Playstation, and yes i'd probably agree that that was Playstations finest time.

Nuclear strike, Time Crisis, C&C, Tomb Raider.

Cor it was leet, have got me thinking now.

Not a great fan of Sony at all but there was one game I loved to bits and played more that any other game on a Sony console to date, WIPEOUT, if they made a completly amazing version for the PS3 then I 'may' be temped over to the darkside.

Original Gran Turismo, was my first taste of 3D really.

The PSX had basically the first greats of every genre bar platformers in 3D.

The PS2 basically has the sequels, and the PS3 has number 3-5 in the series of identical games with better graphics.

Awsome the first time you sample it, especially coming from the 16bit generation, but once you have played one of them GT9 just does not appeal. :p

i had a ps1 and an n64 in their hay days, there is no way the ps1 can be considered better. The n64 is easily my favourite ever console.

My opinion ofcourse :)

ya, and does anyone remember Pandemonium? played the demo that was pretty funky!

it also brought worms to the masses on pass-around pad. (my first ever 2 games on ym first ever console were Worms, and Ridge Racer Revolution - so will always hold a place dear in my heart!)

Tekken2 was also class at its time. i didnt own the game, but the Demo was amazing! put hours into that bad boy!

as was the Wipeout2097 demo!

hmm then i went and bought TunnelB1 and ruined it all. lol.

I am the same. Love the ps1 but the N64 is my fav console of all time as well. Some great games: Mario 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Party 1 & 2, Mario Kart, Zelda OoT, Zelda MM & Smash Brothers.

that may very well be the *thing* that put me off the ps2, ps3 etc actually. the whole deal with sequals. not that their a bad thing :)

and my god, i totally forgot about wipeout. wipeout 2097 and rollcage 2 were probs 2 of my fav games on it, as well as Driver, crash bandicoot, mgs etc

I got a playstation soon after release for around 300 with no games.

I had only a demo to play on it :D and boy did i play it. The disk had a dinosaur on it that used to be on display in shops etc, it was jawdropping graphics at the time.

I played a demo of ESPN extreme sports, and jumping flash for ages. Then the first game i bought was Magic carpet lol :(

Those were the days indeed, Gran Turismo, Toca, Crash Bandicoot, Red Alert, Rollcage etc.
N64 really didn't come close.

Sequels can be ok if enought things are done to the game to make them worth buying. It would seem everyone loved Resident Evil 4. Which reminds me I should get that for my cube. Tekken always just seems to get a faceliftd and that was about it. I found Rage Racer a good installment of the Ridge Racer series. Ridge Racer on the PSP wasn't to bad if you want almost every Ridge Racer track in you hand.

A few of my fav N64 games were
Mario 64
Banjo Kaz
Golden Eye
Turok 1 and 2
Mystical Ninja

I bought mine when they'd been around a while and weren't too expensive, got it with Gran Turismo and Tekken 3, broke the console inside a week when I threw the controller at it. Took it back to HMV and got it replaced as faulty.

Metal Gear Solid and Command and Conquer were the only other games I really put time into. Seemed strange when all of a sudden peoples uncles and Dad's were buying them.

I rented the PS and the Sega Saturn, ended up buying the Sega Saturn and never looked back.
I played all AAA games on the PS but it just didn't appeal to me.

But looking back the PS games that were released back then and comparing it with the PS2/PS3 very shocking.
