I bought my first DSLR camera 2 months ago, still learning how to use it so plenty of space for improvement here :o

If only the third swan had looked straight ahead as well :(

Not exactly an interesting topic, but fairly pleased with how this turned out. Shot inside a lightbox with a 40D and 430EX II firing into the roof. A fair bit of PP tweaking to give a flat finish to the background. Wish I'd thought to dust the bloody thing before I took the pic!

Nice pic Von, can't help but think it would be nice to see a view with the barrel horizontal and/or the whole gun flipped so it reads from the back of the gun to the tip of the barrel left to right. Edit - that would mess up the the guage, lever clamp view etc. though so scrap that thought!
That the new Invert Mini essentially? Looks rather sexy!

Try the dust and scratches filter in PS, it should make light work of that background.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Thanks. Yep it's essentially a Mini with all the annoying bits fixed. Bit bigger so you don't feel so cramped holding it, venting on/off asa/reg and you can pull the whole bolt assembly out with one button push. Only downside is the retained the Mini flappy lever feedneck, which is why I replaced mine with the Nano feedneck. Great marker though, our whole team were shooting them at the weekend and they ran perfectly.

I actually think the background is a bit too flat - it partially gives the impression of it floating in mid air and lacking depth. I like the lighting though.

Erm, what is it?

Couple of snaps from my trip to Las Vegas in november. Never edited my pictures before, and liked these 2 as they were. Thought I'd play around a bit in lightroom and I'm shocked how much better they look, in my opinion anyways :P

Really like this shot, over exposure makes it look a lot sunnier than it was at the time. Think I might get this printed on a canvas.

This one's from the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon. Taken just before sunset, again probably another canvas for living room. I know it's at an angle but that makes it better imo :P

I got back at the beginning of the month....did you, like me think the skywalk was a huge waste of money? i took some photos with my lumix, it was really the trip that made me want to get into photography more, will post some later :)

This isn't actually one I took if I'm honest. I went with a few family members, 5 of us went in helicopter ride, which was awesome. My mum and grandma are scared of heights so they did the 6 hour coach trip one, and this is one of theirs I edited. We flew over the skywalk, and couldn't believe how tiny it in comparison to the cliff face it's on :P

Photo wise theirs were better, I've got some brilliant shots, but a lot suffer from a bit of glare from the heli bubble, as the light was dimming. I might put all the good ones up later, as I've now kinda got the bug :P

But yeah, the sheer amount of variety of the landscape out there really does inspire you to catch it on photo, and some of the formations are incredible, you saw the falcon rock I assume? Just crazy lol.

ahhh eagle point ;) yeah there is a picture of me sitting over the edge of the cliff with that in the background...lol
The skywalk is $50 and to be honest you can see everything from right next to it....but i guess its a thing you can say you have done!
