I went to the zoo a while back, here are a few pictures:

It was hard work getting a decent shot of the bats because the light was so low and no flash was allowed but I am pleased with this, straight out of the camera

This is one of my favourites of the day, I love the sharpness, DOF and the colours

I really love the colours and the sharpness on this as well, the contrast between the colours around the deep black eye and they eye itself really make it stand out

They were all shot with the Nikon 70-300mm.

A bit of feed back would be nice.

Oh and the LCD on my camera was broke at the time so I am very happy they turned out well :D

Some shots from a football match at the weekend with a team from work against a team of 'celebs', my 1st ever attempts at shooting a sporting event.

Like the butterfly shot - nice and sharp in the right places - I always find it's darker than you expect in butterfly houses so difficult to get decent sharp shots since you often need a long lens to reach them

Bat one is a good silhouette too :)

I feel like the third one could do with a bit of brightening but it might just be me

Prizes* for guessing what insect produced this leg (without looking at the flickr tag)

I think it was an unfortunate victim of the lawnmower - I've been taking a few pictures of the severed head and broke the leg off by mistake :(

Thanks a lot, i really do appreciate it. :)

Now that you mention it, i do realise that it is a bit dark. The area just under the neck is completely black, there isn't any definition, so i will try and have a play around with the picture. Saying that, the main focal point is the eye and the colour but I will change it a bit.

Thanks again :)

Great wedding shots as usual Ray.

Here's a few from a recent wedding which I am still currently working though. Jake (Phate) was assisting so a couple of these may have actually been taken by him but I'm not sure which ones right now.

The non-ceremony ones are my 'go to' couple shots. I ask them to hold hands and walk away from me until I tell them to stop and walk back. Usually results in some good shots.

Undecided on whether these two edits are decent at-all. I don't tink the subject poppy stands out enough and the funny colourising was meant to help pick it out - really I should have composed it better.
Silly that I was in Tuscany for a week but barely got any poppy shots... such is life with a baby!

Just got back from a very busy week in the Philippines, mostly shot film but here are a few shots that I snuck in with my Ricoh:
