Has anyone ever submitted their wildlife photos to the BBC show Countrylife or is it Countryfile? the good ones make it into their yearly calendar...

Nice Shots Rob, Glad to see you're Enjoying the D3100, I took my Camera with myself to work today and poped this one off, I liked the way the clouds looked was just a 5 second shot really.

(The 17-40 was used for this one, some slight oof as Oli moved during the slow exposure (1/30 handheld) but still, I managed to recover the eye sharpness which automatically improves the rest.

It was nice and warm going in but walking around inside it quickly got cold yeah! Add to that, water droplets falling down your neck from the limestone above :S

Amazing how clear the water is down there though, there is a basin of water that someone has dunked a toy shark in and the water is as clear as what you get from out of your tap!

Nice set of photos! I realise some are in B&W but did you drag the saturation down on the others?

What shoes were you wearing btw... because it honestly looks like some kind of croc thing :p

I've numbered them now so this post makes more sense :p

Number 3 and 6 were using a custom "cold" preset which is a combination of rgb curves and split tone (very slight) among some other bits I've got in Lightroom,

Number 4 is the natural ambience from the torches lighting up the cave. It's pitch black in there so only light is via torches bouncing off the wet limestone! The hardest part was setting the lighting up so they bounce off the right walls and create the right atmosphere I wanted. Friends are used to my lighting antics now I guess :D

Shoes, I have waterproof snow boots on :p
