The problem with leaving windows open in warm weather...

^^ I always thought this would be a problem with bi-folding doors which I'd love to have to open the living room in to the garden. I've heard of birds flying in to peoples houses never mind incy wincy spiders!
ive had birds flying in on 3 or 4 occasions and i only have standard sized doors which are permanently open during the summer months. no problem at all as i usually jost open the window and encourage them to go out

We don't seem to get house spiders very often, but instead we get false widows. Big fat bitey ones.

I usually just chuck spiders out the window, but these nasty sods aren't so lucky. I've found them in our 1 year old's room and knowing that they can give a rather nasty bite, I'd rather not give them a chance to return!
what are these and how do u tell the difference??

ive never heard of biting spiders in the uk:eek:

They all can bite if annoyed enough(pretty sure most of them can't bite a human though) Heck apparently a ladybird can bite :D.

False widows aren't that big and are about as painful as a bee sting (although I've only been bitten/stung once so I'm not an expert). Apparently some people have nasty reactions to it but I imagine it's more that the media has hyped it up.

i never even knew nor heard of them, mind you i dont do social media much nor do i ever watch terrestrial tv etc.

a spider bite that hurts like a bee sting would be nasty for a child tho:eek:

Indeed. Pretty sure the one that got me was just ****** off that I rolled onto it(understandable :D).

Quick google suggests they're not known to be aggressive.

Get a cat. Mine eats anything that runs or flies into the house that shouldn't be there :)

Mine is the opposite... She brings us new friends!

Usually bees (angry ones, just what you want on the floor!), but she brought us a pigeon a few weeks ago...

i dont seem to get spiders. just next doors cat.

i only left the top window open the other day and she still tried to get in, ended up head butting the glass.
