From personal experience and reading many of the running threads in here I think it is okay to say that running is one of the hardest forms of excercise to do right, due to the amount of problems that we have with it... hence, lets make a thread with all the running problems we have had in one place and share solutions we have found...

I must admit I'd be interested to see what DmPoole, Gilly and Firstborn have had to overcome...

I'll start - leg cramp. Curently dealing with this, and trying to find a remedy but I find I get minor leg cramp, run on it anyway and end up doing minor damage to my calves... am currently planning to drink 600ml of water before every run (apparently max amount of water you can drink without somach sloshing) and take a further 300ml of water with me. Planning to change shoes as well, I started running longer distances and wearing new shoes at the same time so changing shoes worth a go...

Well the major one for me was a bad back (lower back). Seems worse in the morning though. I gunna give the running a miss for the next couple of days then i'll start walking then if all's well start running again.

I got blisters the first time I went for a proper run but that was down to the knackered Rebooks I went out in - showed me the value of proper running shoes straight away.

My current problem is it being light so late. During the winter I could huff and puff my way round my route in the dark and be somewhat invisible. Now the world can see me pounding round like a wounded <insert animal of your choice here>

To do with running but not really a problem with running, was a cause more than anything.

I had a lot of problems with my lumbar region, causing mild sciatica. It was because of the running and the swimming I'd overtrained my legs and they'd developed quicker than other areas of my body. I was too young really to be doing the amount of miles I was.

Thats when I took up boxing. Really helped me out, but it took a couple of months for it to start having a big effect.
