The proof - GTX vs GT

I said a respectable fps, where it does not go under 30 fps, I'm sure if you ran the gpu bench with 4XAA, your fps would not look to healthy but if its OK in game then thats all good.

It would probs look a discrace lol, but Crysis is well known for been playable at 20fps.

Yea and a GTX wont too and your GTS SLi proberbly wont be aswell in the future, why do you think people upgrade regularly in the first place?

Me buying 2x GTS is only because i beleive it will be the bset thing avalible before christmas and after buying i wont be upgrading for around 2 years because its not my money therefore i need to get the most powerful i can to last the time. I dont intend on maxing out evwery game. Ive had a 6800Gt for 3 years lol.

because the gtx is substantially faster in 1920x1200 8xFSAA?

What i asid there had nothing to do with any other cards. Nor was i comparing it to the GTX. Im saying that if you awnt to do it you need something more powerful. If they bring out a revised GTX that would be a lot better suited. The GT wont handle it.

IM truely bored of the topic now after arguing this twice. I bid this topic farewell, you can beleive what you want and ill beleive what i want.

sweet jesus if he wasnt comparing it to a gtx then just what was he comparing it to?

The argument was that the GTX was much better than the GT. I appreciate its better than the GT, but there isn't much of a gap thats the point I was trying to make - he won't have it though lol.
Im not going to argue this twice but like i said before gaming on a 24" with aa and AF and it will make a substantial difference. Its dependent on what screen and settings you expect to be able to run.

GT vs GTX in the end (started off GT vs GTS)

that was a direct quote from the beginning of this thread which happens to be titles "The proof - GT vs GTX"

im not twisting anything, im sorry, but that just wont stand here. you have again insulted me twice again when i have given you no reason. to be perfectly honest, you're making yourself look very silly now. i corrected hulmut because he was wrong. i will say this again, this is a technical forum and nobody will learn anything if people here are are feeding them incorrect information, no matter how small an issue it was. that correction was nothing more than a simple, polite, correction, it was helmut who took it personally and kicked off as he always does. but as that is completely off topic, for the sake of this thread let's not go there again.

if anybody thinks i am trying to wind 8igdave up, please let me know.

The benchmarks speak for themselves and there are many games at 1900+ resolutions with 4xAA where there is hardly anything between the two GT and GTX

8igdave has a odd perception of the GT and a love for the new GTS even though its not out yet.

Both have a 256bit bus he believes the 256bit interface of the GT cripples it!

But not the GTS.... even though its the same bus but with a few more SP

The GT is a stunning card and definately a step in the right direction for both performance and something that seems to be disregarded these days, the actual size of the card.

Obviously it can't really compete with a GTX(at high res+AA), it wasn't designed to and if it did Nvidia would be shooting themselves in the foot. Sub £150 you won't get better but if you game at high res (24"+) then you would be better looking at an Ultra, GTX or GT's in SLI. Below 24" you would have to be a fool not to consider the GT considering it matches the GTX until AA/AF is added and even then its only a few fps - nothing to lose sleep over - unlike the £150 more you will be paying for the privelidge to willy wave about you having a GTX. Don't get me wrong now - the GTX/Ultra is still the king of the hill but the new kid on the block, the GT, certainly gives it a run for the money and price/performance certainly wipes the floor with it.

Can't wait to see the GTX/GTS revisions.

found it :)

CPU bench 0xAA 0xAF

min - 15.75fps
ave - 41.53fps
max - 53.68fps

CPU bench 4xAA 16xAF

min 25.79fps (higher?)
ave 37.78fps
max 49.28fps

GPU bench 0xAA 0 xAF

min - 21.55
ave - 42.38
max - 57.38

GPU bench 4xAA 16xAF

min - 19.75
ave - 38.54
max - 57.47

its pretty obvious that above 1680x1050 with AA/AF on the GTX pulls ahead, in some cases it gives twice as many frames as the GT (crysis) and on other games it's about 20% better. For the price the GT is an awesome card.
