So far they are up to £1100 on the auctions. I have watched a few videos on youtube too of the ques to get one.

My mate Neil was the first person to have original Playstations in the uk when they were released, he'd shot over to Japan just before they were sold and picked up 2 suitcases full of them. They were selling for between £600-£800 back then! Crazy times, but damn good fun.

:D

I have this horrible feeling that the Blu-ray drives in the first batches may start to fail after a few months.
Don't ask me why, but I just do.
it may have something to do with the fact that Sony themselves have said they have had trouble producing them succesfully.

Incidently, the 360 had quite a few hardware failures just after it's launch.
Are we still seeing the same kind of failure rate or don't people post about it anymore?
There are always going to be niggles on a new platform, so early adopters should be aware of that.
Dunno, if I'm gonna get one myself though. May get a Wii as it looks kind of funky and the controller looks a neat idea to play games with. :p

A well know Asian games website has the 20gb PS3 in stock for £475. Shame they can't ship to the EU though (probably explains why it's still in stock).

Rather expensive considering the 60gb is £425 i thought cashing in i suppose. :)

^Has that value been confirmed? What's the RRP? We're still not getting the 20gb one I take it. Pointless to buy a 60gb though imo.

I thought it was announced at recent event Sony had or unless thats the USA equivalent. As for the pricing i remember a while back 20gb was like £350 or something and 60gb was £425.

I think there will be a few failures too, maybe it because it's new technology.

I would like to import an PS3 but there isn't any games out that interest me at the moment. Plus how would you get hold of Jap games? As most importers have now stop shipping Sony products to UK.

So your saying we are getting the 20gb version then?

No we will be getting both Versions 20gb and 60gb just that i was saying the 20gb seems expensive from that Asia site because the 60gb one is only £425 on its own.

And considering the 20gb i think going to retail in UK for under £400 seems abit mad paying that much.

But its no good anyway because Sony have blocked import sites only if you know someone who could ship it to you would be best. :)

but I think Sony has certainly delivered the next generation of consoles and set a new benchmark for their rivals.

^Sorry I have a serious problem with my wording, I knew we were getting the 60gb model but I thought that was it. Should have said "are we getting the 20gb ASWELL". Yeah difference isn't that huge as I thought if it's at those prices you say

Here we go..

'Sony is shipping the next generation of console after the 360 because its a year late to the market'.. ERR NO!

And a proper quote:
"The only thing is I don't seem to be able to open any Microsoft applications like Word and Excel."
What does he think he has bought?

to be honest it's starting to sound like Dreamcast/PS2 all over again, the only difference being MS have the financial backing to stay in the market and make a fight of it.

LOL i had a good laugh at that as well, umm its not a pc in which he makes out to be like one...damn these crazy japs...really havent a got a clue. But then anything Sony and they go nuts over it.

Another quote i found quite funny as well...

However, the beauty of the PS3 is that any updates, whether they are system updates and or programs, can be provided by Sony online.

LOL and the 360 doesnt do that already??....as i said anything sony related and these japs go nuts :p.
