The Radeon RX 5700 XT Owners Thread.

I'm about to buy a GPU again after being out of the game for over a year, my last 4-5 cards have been nVidia.

There's a deal available at the moment that's £349 for a 5700XT, is it worth the punt or are there still teething issues?

The model I'm looking at is the dual fan PowerColor Radeon Red Dragon RX 5700XT.

Ooooh. I’ve spotted the red dragon for 350

If I'm buying an AMD card I always buy Sapphire as I've experienced no issues whatsoever. My last three cards, a Fury Pro Tri-X, Reference Vega 64 and now 5700XT pulse have done what it says on the tin. I think the problem with all these three cards from AMD was they were bad over clockers, because the thermals and power were already close to the limit. Both my earlier Fury Pro and now 5700XT I've left at stock and they've both performed in line with what I expected with zero issues. The reference Vega 64 I had to under volt to tame the noise and power but it still ran well after a lot of tinkering.

I also concur with the post about the PSU and splitter cables. When I first installed my Vega 64 it was a POS that crashed for fun which of course I blamed on the card. When I did some investigations I remembered I was using a 5 year old 700w PSU with a splitter cable. Replaced that with a top notch 850W PSU with single cables and amazingly everything worked flawlessly. Had to eat a lot of humble pie on that one!

With regards to the drivers my only real moan is about the fan curve which is basically broken in the drivers. It doesn't work as it should which is one of the reasons my current 5700XT runs at stock. Even if I try to under volt it breaks the 0 RPM and the fan curve which is crazy. TBH it looks like they let an intern with no programming knowledge do it and so as not to upset him/her they don't fix it. Total joke really. That notwithstanding if you look at Nvidia sites they are bitching about their driver issues so neither side is perfect on drivers. Indeed some of the Nvidia issues are way worse than the AMD ones just look at this from Nvidia.

You pays your money you takes your chance I guess.

A Proud owner of a Powercolor Red Dragon 5700 XT.
I took £319 punt when i saw it appeared last Wednesday morning in the clearance section. "B Grade" - which could mean anything really.
But £319! There where a few others available at that point a nitro but that was nearer 400 and a red dragon which was 350-360 i think.

Anyway, I have been testing the card all week and its perfect. No issues I have seen at this point.
Its quiet, temps are good just like the reviews.
Its certainly and improvement over my previous Sapphire Pulse Vega 56.

I will join the club once I get pictures sorted.

Here hope for some more improvements and features in the December driver release

Awesome, get mine tomorrow was a bit anxious as I couldn't find many reviews for it but for £349 I couldn't resist.

Gah....2700s x trio vs Red Devil vs red dragon ARGH

Red Devil is the best 5700 XT when it comes to power phase, cooling, noise levels typically. Sapphire Nitro is a very close match.

In short Devil and Nitro are the best sellers by miles and are the only two I'd consider and I'd probably have to toss a coin personally which one to pick as they are that good, or just take the one you prefer looks on. :)

Toss a coin between the 2700 super x trio and Red Devil?
