The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Well considering that it costed me £300 (sold my 6900 XT, which served me very well) I'm happy with what I got :)

I could have gone for an XTX to be honest but I didn't because of several reviews highlighting more noise and and higher power consumption compared to the XT version. If the XTX card had been a super quiet/power efficient card it would have definitely been my first choice.
I’m sure the XT can tuned to get another 10-20% performance easily.

@Jay-G25 We burning gas here, new world record in Modern Warfare 2 with the MBA 7900 XTX at 1440P competitive settings.

Stunning results mate , makes me wonder why AMD decided to sell it so short in this game .... one of the biggest games this year , i would be promoting it to the world how well it outperforms NVidia's best rather than saying it fell somewhere in between

Regarding OC/UV unless you push it to the extreme I don't think you will ever match the XTX, no. You can get an extra 5% performance though while remaining reasonable and that's what I am aiming for personally.
Thanks

Anyone here with ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero and 5800X3D with RX 7900 series having success?

I can only run:-

CB15 OpenGL (~225W)
SuperPosition (~470W)
RealBench (~475W)
Blender Benchmark v3.4.0 (~465W)

Power readings are AC side from wall plug for full rig inc 1x screen, idle max is ~110W for whole rig.

Below loads system turns off:-

The Outer Worlds
The Witcher 3
Heaven
Valley
3DM FS
3DM TS

PSU Cooler Master V850, Seasonic platform, has no OCP, single 12V of 70A.

Currently believe mobo UEFI at issue, as older UEFI 4006/4201 don't run the things I can on 4303 Beta. I can't use any other UEFI due CPU not supported. Tried some suggestions from peeps on OCN, my post link.

Maybe neither of us are right, it was definitely more clay paste like than thermal pad though.
on my 4090FE the stock TIM had the consistency of cement , was rock solid nasty stuff and had to go over the core a few time to get most of it off.... was almost like it had be baked on

Good to see you on the Liquid metal bandwagon though , its great stuff and really does help with temp :D

I’m pretty sure this is the same stuff as I had to do exactly the same.

My 7900XTX has just arrived and I've just finished removing the nVidia drivers and installing AMD's drivers.

No problem booting (Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite with latest BIOS), time will tell how games run! The card is a bit smaller than I was expecting - it's roughly the same size as my old Asus 3070 TUF OC.

Feels like a quality product so far, although idle temperature is a little high. Loving the Adrenalin drivers so far - seems more polished (and complete) than the nVidia offering

@LtMatt

I have fixed my card!!! :D :D :D

I have a over enthusiastic card at stock :) :) :) :)
Nice one dude, glad you got it all sorted. 3DMark results are hidden at the moment until they update their software to acknowledge a 7900 XTX.

Here are my best Timespy Standard, Extreme, FS Ultra and Port Royal scores.

I've reached the limits of this card as you can't push power past 335W.
