The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Hopped on to do a quick test to see if my hunch was right about overboosting causing driver errors.

BRAVO...BRAVO!
However...
My work here is done.

Not until you delete all your old entries and free up the top 100, how many entries you got in it?

Give some of us mortals a chance lol.

Edit: Cleaned it up. I must have had a good 20 runs on the Nitro+, Still had some from the Pulse in there also.
I can easily go clean up the charts or just push the Americans out?
I think there is more in this thing too. That was just a one and done theory test last night.

You should be good upto about 105. My system would fail tests at 106

I think issue is that increasing the base clock does not only increase the CPU clock, but RAM and PCIe bus as well (so pretty much everything in the system, SATA+nvme drives, usb ports, etc). The 5700X3D on my wifes PC is on a rather cheap motherboard and the value goes red in bios already at 101. I tried to increase it to 102 a few months back but the OS got corrupted within a few hours and a few USB ports stopped working until I did a power cycle.

Not sure how much it matters for the X3D chips, but the Time Spy CPU tests are greatly affected by RAM bandwidth so increasing RAM speeds and tweaking timings usually helps out a lot.

Awesome!

interesting off i go

The thought was the more I lowered the voltage offset, I had to further lower the frequency offset to keep it all in check. Prior to doing this I was unable to do repeat back to back tests at -75mV but after that, I can hit consistent test after test at -80mV. I'll maybe try -85mV later but I imagine I'll hit diminishing returns soon. I took a good chunk off the frequency offset.

see my GPU is completely different to yours, my best score is -115mv +225core.
no matter what i put the offset to if i go -100 on the core is a crash ever time

Does RDR2 optiscaler work on Steam/RS versions, or is it only by going the grey territory route to enable FSR4?
I'm playing the Steam version right now and optiscaler works, but you have to put fakenvapi in the game folder, use DX12, DLSS inputs, and use the latest DLSS and FSR in DLSS swapper

ive been noticing steel nomad crashing on me a few times well hanging on launch was wondering if its linked to my crashes during hte benchmark test
then i noticed worms crashing on launch and other stuff so im thinking it is an issue with steam crashing on my pc rather than my settings/silicon lottery outcome thats causing the crashes might have to reinstall 3d mark i guess deffo noticed an improvement in scores when i pull back the freq offset to - numbers though so yeah i think its something else not hte card being weak comparitively

Want to see that Union flag flying high so leave them

Is it mad that I'm being drawn more to the 9070 than the XT?

The 9070 basically draws the same power as my RX6800 but has 50% more performance. My system is pretty much silent at the moment and it uses little enough power that the PSU fan doesn't even switch on most of the time. Unsure whether the extra power draw of the XT would upset the balance (I know it can be undervolted to reduce power a bit).

On the other hand, the 9070 seems poorer value than the XT, even if the performance gap isn't significant.

In the top left of the page you can change the list from Score Explorer to Leaderboard which will only show the best score from each user.

Got my pulse today and so far so good. I did the demo Steel Nomad benchmark with both my 3070 (3162) and the Pulse (6924) running with a 5900X, double the score so happy with that. I've seen some comments about undervolting and changing the fan curve, are they in the driver software or do I have to install something else? Probably been away from AMD for about 10 years now.
