The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

i really dont get adrenaline, surely its broken, doing 3d mark today started on my last settings from other day, yet 10k down on graphics score, like what gives, non of the amd stuff is running, what gives:confused:

Hey guys,

1) Gigabyte
2) RX 9070 XT
3) Gaming OC
4) 06.03.25

Anyone else having a bad coil whine issue? i've found that i can hear it sometimes during intense gaming, but the best way to replicate it, if you open AMD chat and ask it to generate any picture. I hear (what sounds to be) an electric beeping noise. Can someone let me know if this is normal, I'll try to upload a video if possible.

Thanks any help is appreciated, have bought two of these same graphics cards and had the same issue on both. Really want to fix if possible.

For context, I am using an itx build:
  • Cooler Master NR200P Max V2
  • Cooler Master 850w Gold ATX 3.0 PSU
  • Cooler Master 280mm AIO with Arctic MX-6 Thermal Paste
  • 2TB Crucial T500
  • 32gb DDR5 6400mhz Lexar Ares at CL30
  • ASUS Rog Strix B650E-I Gaming Wifi Motherboard
  • Ryzen 7 9700X
  • recently added the 9070 xt listed above :)

I've never noticed.

Please see if you can access the video through this link, shows the issue i’m having with my Gigabyte RX 9070 XT Gaming OC.

PS: I’m pressing enter each time to generate a new image which is causing the beeping during processing

Thanks

Mine idles at 30c and max I've seen is 60c. Although I can bench a -170 or -150 undervolted that is not stable in games and anything above 2750 memory lower my performance. I find +500core, -75uv and 2766 (2750 after offset) fast memory is solid in games and gives almost the same benchmark scores as a larger undervolt.

Edit *50% max fan* I hate fan noise!
To check, is this with the Aorus Elite? I'm quite unsatisfied with mine on a temps and fan perspective, it's always pegged at about 62 degrees in TLOU or Arma with pretty aggressive fan speeds (45%+). Hotspot is 90, VRAM temps is 95.

Haven't done any undervolting yet, reviews for this card remarked on how wonderfully quiet and cool it is, but my experience is pretty much the opposite, it has the thermal profile of a much cheaper card, not the £750 super duper model.

Preformance is absolutely stellar however, so my opinion is really mixed on this specific model

Check your Adrenaline version - the latest is 25.3 so I installed that at the start of the week. Windows did some auto update Tue night which automatically rolled it back to something like 24.3, which was a little annoying... I had to go into gpedit and disable drivers from Windows update.

some info here:

Unsure how much that will impact 3D Mark scores, but I noticed it had disabled the smart memory allocation thingy, so it could impact performance.

I've not had that issue yet but I imagine that would kill your perf

Blimey that is not normal. If it was me I’d send it back. Does it do it during gaming.

That's quite a noise—I thought it was a cicada for a moment.
