The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

My pure underclock is a bit unusual, it worked fine at -100mv in a few games, but in war thunder it crashes straight away (with the latest hot fix) but initial release I think was fine at -100mv in war thunder

Nice to see a bunch of you guys helped to make this happen :)

So some of you have already seen me state that I only play DayZ, I'm looking at upgrading from the 3060Ti in the near future and hoping to grab one of the 9070 cards..

The big question is, how is AMD in DayZ these days, does anybody here play DayZ on a 9070 card?

With AMD In the past I had bad stuttering and other users have said they get low fps in the cities but I dont get that with Nvidia.

So with only playing that one game I really need some info on this to decide where my upgrade lands :)

Cheers.
I'll test it later and let you know.

wow quite a launch then

Cheers buddy, much appreciated :)
Quick test on Chenarus. My system is Gigabyte X570S UD motherboard, 3600 memory, 5700X boosting to 4850, a couple of Gen4 NVME's, H6 Flow case, 9070XT Pulse, MSI OLED @1440P, Auto HDR Off.

Standard GPU settings so no tuning, DayZ set to Extreme setting, I would get 68 to 110 FPS. Very smooth experience overall. The card was quiet, good temps on GPU at 57C and 79C on hotspot.

Thank you so much, this helps a ton considering my setup is kinda similar regarding mobo and RAM, but with me having the 5800X3D and only being at 1080p.. should be safe to take plunge then :)

Thanks again, totally appreciate this and the best thing is I hardly play Cherno, Im mostly on Namalsk so much smaller map, ty!

No problem. You'll be absolutely fine at 1080P, even with the none XT.

These cards really are amazing. I don’t miss my 7900XTX one bit, and I’m actually pulling more frames in a lot of games due to better silicon on this 9070XT. That’s before we even talk about FSR4 which is such a huge improvement over FSR3. My jaw literally dropped when I used optiscaler in Silent Hill 2 and used DLSS in game. It literally looks virtually native at even the performance setting.

Has to be said that it would be interesting what they could have achieved had they pushed for a more powerful card though. These cards are very power limited and there’s massive room left in them. A 9090XTX would have been an absolute monster.

Extremely happy though.

Managed to get my Pulse running at -95mV which has helped gain me a few frames.

I need to look into optiscaler, I can't quite get my head around how it's meant to be used. I'm mainly playing KCD 2 at the moment and I think that uses FSR 4 anyway?

I was like that at first, but it’s quite easy to do. Just a case of dropping the Optiscaler files into the game folder, running the install.bat and then copying the amd DLL from system32.

Hopefully it’s implemented in more games native though, which I’m sure it will be due to its performance and the popularity of these cards.

KCD2 is FSR 3.1 but hasn’t been whitelisted by AMD for the adrenaline level implementation. Can be used with Optiscaler though.

Well here was me thinking the game looked great with FSR 4 enabled and it isn't. Off to fix that now thank you!

I'm seeing a similar thing where games and benchmarks crash out at different voltages. I had GTAV Enhanced at -40mv, Steel Nomad at -50mv and Monster Hunter Wilds at -70mv. I've settled on -40mv, 2800mhz vram and -10% PL otherwise I'll forever be tweaking sliders and never actually play the games!

Absolutely agree.

Been using OptiScaler and the difference with FSR 4 is night and day, especially in games which had really poor implementations of FSR 2/3. Silent Hill 2 was a shimmery mess with FSR 3 on my 6750 XT but on my 9070 with FSR 4 it's a different story...Wow, even performance looks better than quality did with FSR 3.

Also Callisto Protocol and Alan Wake 2 are two big stand outs, It's like playing AW2 again for the first time. It's not even needed because the card has enough grunt to run at 1440p/4K but FSR 4 is so good that you might as well run quality or something just for the extra FPS and max out your monitor, it's so clean it might as well be native and it's only going to get better since it's relatively new tech.

I would prefer it if it were implemented natively into more games but I guess that will come with time and using OptiScaler is a breeze anyway in the mean time.

Yeah, this is sort of what I'm waiting for now. FSR4 is such an improvement on FSR3 but it's a bit annoying that we have to either use OptiScaler or wait for developers to update their game to support 3.1/4.

I also can't use it Optiscaler in multiplayer games as it'll see something being 'injected' into the game (The Finals) and could lead to a ban - so even though that game supports 3.1 it still needs something to enable FSR4 as well (potentially AMD white-listing it? Unsure how it works on 3.1 supported games tbh).

Hey question do you think ill get away with a 650 watt psu for a 9070xt .
