Renowned gaming company Razer, has a smartphone on the way and here’s what you need to know about its release date and watching the live stream.

As if the smartphone market was busy and competitive enough, Razer seems to be about to branch out from its core business of laptops and gaming peripherals.

Razer smartphone release date and live stream
The official website’s homepage shows a large banner with the phrase ‘Watch. Listen. Play’ and a man seemingly using a smartphone. All the clues are there.

The date of the launch is 1 November so everything will be revealed soon. It starts at 1pm PSTwhich will be 8pm in the UK. If you want to watch the live stream we’ll do our best to embed it at the top of this page.

It’s been known for a while that Razer would launch a smartphone after it bought Nextbit in January 2017.

There’s also this quote from CEO, Min-Liang Tan, speaking to CNBC: "One of the most hotly rumored things about Razer is that we're coming up with a mobile device. And I can say that we are coming up with a mobile device specifically geared toward gamers and entertainment."

A couple of days after we found the GFXbench listing, the Razer Phone is now spotted in a leaked image. On the rear of the device, we can spot the dual camera sensors along with a LED flash. The rear camera bumps out of the body which looks to be a metal surface. Just like the Nextbit Robin, the Razer Phone also looks to come in a rectangular slab design without any curved or rounded edges. While the Nextbit Robin came with a rounded volume rocker and power buttons, the Razer Phones also features similar buttons on the left edge.

There is a huge Razer logo in green color on the rear and we expect the company to make it backlit. Based on the GFXbench listing, the Razer Phone might feature dual 12MP sensors on the rear. However, there is no confirmation whether the company will be opting for the RGB + monochrome or the wide-angle + telephoto camera setup. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details, as we expect more leaks to follow soon.

Yeah that seems to be the general consensus on Reddit too, I'm quite interested in it tbh, rumours of SD835, 8GB and a 2k 5.7" screen...

Don't forget Razer bought Nextbit. So expect the Razer phone to look like a Nextbit Robin.

How so? (Genuine question)

I like the idea of a 120Hz screen, that is the future IMO, and the big battery is nice.

Need to wait for reviews though.

Apparently this was on their FB page, but has been removed.

TL: DW:

700 November release, snapdragon 835 SoC, 8GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 4,000mAh battery, two stereo speakers each with its own amp (looks front facing), 120HZ IGZO LCD panel, two 12MP rear cameras (wide angle + telephoto)

Well if 5k is 5120 × 2880 then....
Ignore him mate, I saw his other posts earlier before he was suspended (which have been deleted), he's just a grammar nazi/internet warrior.

Video removed unfortunately.

Just watching the keynote, its very amateur! But the phone actually looks pretty good.

Taken from Reddit:
  • Nova Launcher Prime Razer Edition (!)
  • Stock Android (Nougat, Oreo coming in Q1 '18.)
  • Snapdragon 835
  • Screen is QHD LCD. 5.7, 120HZ with tech to reduce screen tearing and lag.
  • Dolby Atmos, THX certified, dedicated amp per speaker. Dual speaker front facing.
  • 8GB Ram. Outperforms S8+. Has good thermal performance for heat.
  • Battery - 4000mah. Their benchmarks: 12.5 hours movie. 63.5 hours for music. 7 hours gaming straight. Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ - Single hour, 0-85%.
  • Camera - Dual 12MP - Updates coming for portrait mode, slow-mo, etc. 8MP front camera.
  • 64GB storage, Micro SD Card slot.
  • Fingerprint sensor in the power key. Power key is on the right side.
  • Phone dimensions: 158 x 78 x 8mm, shorter than S8+, wider and slightly thinner.
  • No headphone jack but the included adaptor has its own 24bit DAC built in.

4000mah is hardly tiny!

Oreo will be coming by Q1 2018, thats still faster than most.

I'm guessing the camera will be the weak point with this, which is a bit of a shame as the rest of it is solid.

After seeing that reveal and the YT vids I'm actually half tempted by this thing!

It is when you compare it to a P2 which has 1080 screen and mid level internals, no way the razor is going to last anywhere close to a day for a heavy user.
You mean the Lenovo P2 right? 5,100mah, with a 1080p screen and mid range specs. Meh.

120hz appeals more to me than 4k on a phone.
This.

It has Qsync so it won't be running at 120Hz all the time, it's like AMD's Freesync and Nvidia's Gsync. Although no idea what the minimum hertz is.
60Hz in the settings but the fps counter dropped lower when the screen was idle.

Oooh, I wonder if they'll have them in store? Would love to see the screen in person.

I've just been into the three shop to have a look. That screen is great! Super smooth and responsive.

Very little bloat too.

In fact overall it's a great package. The camera seems decent too to be honest from the samples they had taken in the shop.
