surprised there isn't a thread / posts on this yet:

ECS have released a Ultra compact PC, the LIVA Mini PC Kit

http://www.ecs.com.tw/LIVA/

Intel® Bay Trail-M SoC Processor

Featuring Intel® Bay Trail-M SoC (System-on-a-Chip) processor, based on the new low-power consumption microarchitecture “Silvermont” Providing the fanless thermal design with better acoustic performance, LIVA is a great Mini PC with the advantages of high performance and power saving

eMMC Storage Technology

eMMC, Embedded Multi-Media Card, comprised of both flash memory and a flash memory controller, which is often used for mobile devices. eMMC greatly reduces the response time and is suitable for high performance applications.

M.2 Socket Wireless Communication

(WiFi 802.11b/g/n & Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Card)

The evolution of onboard interface M.2 socket provides a better and faster standard for connecting NGFF (Next Generation Form Factor), provides a better and faster standard for connection and expansion. LIVA adopts the latest M.2 Interface with the WiFi / Bluetooth Combo Card for Better wireless communication.

Low Voltage DRAM

LIVA Integrates low voltage Double Data Rate III Synchronous DRAM, usually used for Notebook PC solution, which is 8% power saving than regular DRAM, DDR3L is ideally suited for the main memory application, which requires large memory density, high bandwidth and low power operation.

with 2gb ram, 32gb eMMC (SSD equivalent), it boots up into Window 8 within seconds, consumes a ridiculous low amounts of power, I power it with a Samsung S4 charger , there's no point switching the thing off, it's silent, fanless (no actual moving parts) and it doesn't even break a sweat.

it handles full HD and anything I throw at it with ease, currently using it with Win 8 + XBMC Gotham, was going to openelec it but this can double up as a decent PC :D

should retail around £100ish

As a media player it's amazing , but specs seriously let it down to be anything more than that. Especially with the nuc's using i7 type processors and you can have upto 16gb ram in them too. But the price difference is huge.

it's being pitched as a perfectly usable PC by ECS which can handle dual screens, which in all honesty it does very well.

However I can see this very popular in the HTPC market, ultra compact, silent, can handle full HD with ease, uses 5w? so can be running 24/7 ...is that like £1 - 1.10 per month on the electrics

Steam streamer springs to mind...

edit - could you also ditch the M2 card and run an SSD in there instead for faster storage?

Loving the price and fact it is micro-usb powered, but still rate a i3 based Silverstone Petite build over it.

Will this be worth the £100 asking price do you think it seems a lot to me for this device its only got a small amount of memory ?

This uses 5V / 15W of total power consumption not 5 watts according to there web site.

Power Saving
LIVA only uses about as much power as just a light bulb!

Equipped with Low Voltage DRAM and Intel Bay Trail-M SoC with Micro USB power supply design, which only takes 5V / 15W of total power consumption, LIVA brings great energy saving ability and the most efficient performance.

that looks brilliant for a living room media box and light internet browser. I currently have an HP Microserver performing those duties and I really want to move it back to being a pure server and get something like this for running XBMC.
Would this be able to cope with streaming full 3D Blu-Ray rips (30Gb+ MKVs) over gigabit ethernet and be able to properly output all the HD audio tracks over HDMI?

I would probably get one of these to replace the PI I'm using as the media headend but it would give me the same problems as I have now as in no separate optical out. Using an HDMI splitter messes up the TV remote control and corrupts the sound for me on a PI with Raspbmc.

I assume this doesnt come with windows.. Why oh why didnt I buy several licenses for £25.

Yeesh... why would you buy a really minimal lightweight little unit like this and then load it up with the most over-bloated heavy and expensive OS there is?

Edit: for the record before anyone replies - yes I know its because Windows is familiar etc
