The Reckoning (Jimmy Savile) - BBC iPlayer

All very well acted and all that but by the end I just felt "what was the point " ?

Learned nothing new and it all felt a bit grubby and pointless.

Similar to the poster above I couldn't really see the point of the series. Having said that, for about 80% of the time Steve Coogan was utterly believable as Savile. Superb acting.

I suppose if nothing else, it brings to light the ever-relevant issue of groomers and people in positions of power exploiting said power. Sadly with social media these days, you have kids clamouring to have even the slightest association to the big names (see: Prime drinks), and some of the big names are basically just jocks surrounded by their jock friends who you wouldn't be surprised if they brag about their bodycount like it's a badge of honour, even openly, with little consequence.

I did end up finishing eps 3 and 4, and was thoroughly impressed with Coogan. Luckily I've never actually watched Alan Partridge properly, so I didn't have many pre-conceived thoughts on him beforehand.
