You can trade in-game?
Sign up to the T.N.G forum (with your in-game name) - and there's a section for people who want to trade.
Chances are there's someone who has too much of the resource you need. :)

argghhh lol... im struggling for decent targets now.

everyones got loads of metal but no crystal or deut near me.

i could quite easily get 2m in metal.... and about 50k of deut and crystal lol.

wouldnt mind but i dont need the metal... im like everyone else around here lol.

I had the same problem. I ended up getting all the metal anyway and trading 1mil away. Worked out nicely in the end :)

Anyone got a few spare resources they wouldn't mind sending my way to get me started?

planet: Angoria, player: reezer, pos: 2:429:12

I'd be very greatful and would pay some back into the alliance for new players when I get established. Looks like a good game and i'd imagine i'll be playing it for a good while since i've got naught better to do :p

Thanks

reezer, if you join the t.n.g.a alliance, send a message to davey in game and you get a care package of resources.

Another question - how do I send circular mail?

I'll sent you some too in a bit, which should last you a few days !

EDIT, you should see it coming now. It'll be about 5 hours as i am in another galaxy.

Helpmeimcrap if its all you can get your hands on take the metal and traid it on the T.N.G & T.N.G.A forum for what you need,
Im struggling for targets now, im just over two weeks in and so far have stuck to inactive non alliance players and it has done me well but it looks like i am going to have to start researching which alliances it is good to go agaisnt if im going to keep my res up with out excess hours of travel time,
would like to avoid alliance players a bit longer really as so far no one has paid any attention to me, just hope some of my targets do not come back on line any time soom i may be in trouble if they do.

LOL Dr Z - I find that often. :p

And I have 1 mill metal to spare, but no-one seems to have any crystal. :s

NEED crystal at the mo as I neglected my crystal mines too much, am only catching up now.

Have over 300k (well, i need it, but not desperately for all that much, at least not now), but need Deut instead as i want to built either robotic factory lvl 10 or computer tech lvl 9 !

only have 50k of deut.

Am i trying to expand to quickly?
i have been playing just over two weeks and i am thinking of taking up my 3rd planet, am i trying to stetch my self to thin or is it a good idea to get as many planets up and running as fast as possible?
my other two planets are doing ok but i am always waiting for res to turn up now with out trying to run a 3rd but i guess that is always the case and just the way the game goes.
how long did you all wait before taking on new planets?

everything i've read on levels of mines suggests that you should have your metal mines approx 2 levels above crystal, but it seems that everyone is always struggling for crystal, so i'm going to try and build my crystal mines higher. :)

Well, the 2 levels works at the beginning. But as i've found out, once you start raiding. Everyone seems to have like twice as much Metal than Crystal. Which makes some things like Computer, ESP, Robotics a lot harder as they need more Crystals.

Therefore i am trying to make my metal and crystal the same levels with Deut 2 levels below.

What i am finding now is that it need a LOT of power. Trying to save Seut too so try not to built Fusion plant. Which means Solar Plant lvl 19 cost Requires: Metal:110.841 Crystal:44.336 !!!

you can stop the energy production of fusion plant if Deut runs low, in case you didnt know :)

Energy is a big problem. However, all is not lost. In fact, all is easy.

MAKE.
FUSION.
PLANTS.

They are expensive, yes, but affordable at the lower levels. They can give a lot of energy for practically nothing. If you have deuterium synthesizers on your planet, they can power the plant. Don't worry if you lose even as much as 20% of your deuterium income -> You are making it up with cheap energy which can power more deuterium plants. Also, deut is easily raided for.

MAKE.
SOLAR.
SATELLITES.

I can't stress this one enough. As far as free energy goes, solar satellites really are the best. They are incredibly cheap. They offer a lot of power in numbers (Unless you're in slots 13-15). They aren't that much of a danger to be crashed because lets face it, who the hell will go to all that length only to pick up less than 60k of crystal? (if you have 100 sats. At my level I only need 80 at the very most, and that planet doesn't even have a fusion plant)

As you get stronger, you'll realise that you can get away with more sats because people just aren't going to mobilise a fleet to get so few resources :)

Even if they did, how long can it possibly take to rebuild even 100 solar sats? 100 solar sats which can give out thousands of energy points, for practically nothing!

Is it better to split your fleet over all of your colonies, so that if any of them get phalanxed then you haven't lost all that much (and may still get a 20% moon chance).

Or, is it better to have one really big fleet, but to keep moving it every day.
I think this way is a bit risky, because if your deployment mission is phalanxed, you could lose everything!

Edit:
Maybe it's better to move your fleet away for a few days if you get probed by someone who is bigger than you and has a moon within phalanx range.

Anyone care to explain how Solar Satellites work?

I made one for 2000 crystal assuming it would be better than upgrading my solar plant but I'm only getting 23 energy from it. It says 50 when i go into the resources page but when I calculate resources it goes down to 23...

Their effectiveness is dependant on the maximum temperature of the planet (shown on the Overview page).
Generally, the lower the planet number is the hotter it is.

There's a calculator here to work out the energy output.

By the way - 2000 crystal may seem like a lot for 23 energy in the early game, but it seriously is extremely cheap in the later game when compared to the ever increasing prices of solar plants / fusion reactors.

The higher planet numbers have more effective deut mines, so it's not simply lower = better (especially when you consider fields, where slots 1-3 are awful).
