The Retro 3D mark Thread

I never really got to grips with what makes 3dmark01 scores the best when I was after points with hwbot.

My i7 at 4.5Ghz and my SLI gtx470's only get 59000 yet I managed to get 65000 with my 5850 and q9650

I also noticed that a slower clocked i7 and SLI gtx470 scored more than double my score.

In fact you need 90k+ to be in the top 10.

I think my sli gtx470's score is 3rd from bottom in the world. And that was with a fresh install of windows 7.

I;m sure I have read somewhere that windows xp scores way higher than w7

Yep Greebo, my i7 920 @4ghz, stock sli 470's, (630mhz factory oc cards) manages 51229.

game 1 and 3 high detail tests had the gpu usage so low (less then 20%) , the card was downclocking to 500 durring the tests. The fan only kicked in at nature test, hit 980 fps going over the lake. Game 1 high detail minimum hit low 50s :S

yep it reduces a 90 odd thousand score on XP by circa 30k on vista or 7

Most (bar vantage) futuremark benches score significantly better on XP
