Well I have been taking a long hard look at my set-up over the last few weeks and decided to give it an upgrade.

I have now got to the point of this:

Canon 500D
Tamron 17-50 (non-VC) (Upgrade from 18-55is)
Canon 55-250is
Sigma 10-20
Canon 50 1.8
YN-467
Canon 540EZ (for strobe)
YN-602 triggers
Red-snapper RS-283 & RSH-528 Head

So I am selling the 50 1.8 to make for extra funds. I am keeping the 55-250is as I have tried out the 70-200 2.8 L and decided to me it's not worth the expense as I don't use my 55-250 enough to justify it.

I am thinking a Sigma 30 1.4 would finish off my bag quite nicely? Is this a good decision, what else can I get for under £300 (second hand considered) which would compliment my set up?

You won't regret getting the Sigma 30mm makes an amazing combo with the crop, picked mine up on TP for 230, leaves you with change maybe some filters or swap out the 602 for some 622 for ettl flash.
