I've never seen the nip's one, but the US one scared the bejeesus out of me. I'm alright with scary films, but my then girlfriend covered her ears, turned around and slept, and I sunk slowly deeper into my sofa to escape the surround sound.

No idea why, it just did an admirable job of creeping me the **** out

ZOMG THE AMERICAN VERSION IS SO CRAP COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL

Blah blah blah

Both versions are very good and if you haven't seen this it's a great film. One of the better horror films of the past decade.

One of the few films that actually scared me. one particular part involving a cupboard and a girl insides face is always the face i think of sitting at the end of my bed if I'm a bit freaked out.

wow this was 2002, 7 years ago.....

Watch the original. Far creepier and such a better movie. I really hate the current trend of America remaking Horror movies from Japan/France. They just can't do the original justice.

This is one of the few that does it very well.

Why are people so quick to jump on the hate bandwagon just because it's a remake. Not everyone wants to watch subtitled films (I personally love them) but in this case I actually prefer the re-make.

Great film, watch it.
