Watched it back last night, haven't seen it in ages. Absolutely fantastic. Far better than I remembered it being, and I loved it before as well. Sean Connery was the perfect role for Mason, and his energy worked so well with Nicholas Cage's.

Does anyone else think this is a brilliant film?

Nothing groundbreaking but as far as a bit of mindless entertainment goes, it was quite good I thought

Brilliant film, brilliantly cast and brilliantly shot.

I have never understood why so many people jump on the 'hating' Michael Bay bandwaggon. Personally i think his films are bang on what they set out to do. Lots of fast paced action, dramatic sequences and stunning cinematography.

I have yet to see anybody not looking forward to The Transformers film.

No, rubbish. Bay directs naff films.

I love Michael Bay !!! (can that sound more gay?? lol)

He sets out to make non brainer popcorn summer blockbusters, which he does more often than not. I am so looking forward to Transformers.

You're him. You're the Rocket Man!

It's quite good, not amazing by any means. Actually, it's pretty damn good simply because it has Connery speaking in it. His voice is ace :D

John Mason: Are you sure you're ready for this?
Stanley Goodspeed: I'll do my best.
John Mason: Your "best"! Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and **** the prom queen.

'Gentleman, welcome to The Rock.'

Great film. Probably Michael Bay's best, although Bad Boys comes close.

As good as Connery is I think Ed Harris makes the whole film work by being such an understated villain. Too many actors think they can overact manically just because they have the villain role.

Yeah great film for the collection not watched it in a while now but will throw it on when I'm going through my action dvds.

got some good b movie actors in it,

tony tood
michael biehn
that geezer whos a complete whinging ween merchant (the soldier bloke that looks about 8)

It's wonderfully trashy. An old scottish geezer wiping the floor with a bunch of macho yanks. Quality. :D

And it also has one of the great movie moments with Sean Connery's line "You must never hesitate." and the accompanying knife throwing trick.
