This new phone, the Samsung Jet (Or S8000) has come out of nowhere, and iv just given it an order. Nice screen, 5mp camera, brand new samsung web browser and an 800MZ Processor! thats iphone beating. Hopefully it will come tomorrow :)

Seen something about this but didnt pay much attention to it...what OS does it run?? Symbian or something else??.

Looks pretty nice tho...let us know your thoughts on it.
 
It runs the Samsung's touchwiz 2.0, not sure if thats the actual OS or just a cover for what lays behind, looks pretty nifty on youtube though.
I went for it because i could get it fairly cheap on vodafone, since i was going to go for the new iphone, but i thought the price (and only the 500 texts included) were a bit silly, so this should be a good alternative.

*Edit* Actually, looking again it does look like symbian, which is ok. Dont quote me on that though :)

Looks like it's their own? Nice to see a good resolution going on though, 800x480 is where it's at! :p

Not and Apple fanboy here, just i own the phone, its smooth, slick, apps 50,000, and they best thing about it!

It is a Samsung OS..
It's the only one of the 4 new Omnia phones that isn't running Windows Mobile.... I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing!

50k apps and most of them utter rubbish tbh...i own an ipod touch so i have first hand knowledge on how rubbish a lot of the apps are.

Doesnt look a bad phone for those that want a non-smart phone esq touch screen.

Got some high specs for sure.

Yeah the iPhone isn't too bad, but lets start talking about the jet again...;)

nope, seems to have been some complication with my credit check, as vodafone have yet to get back to me on it, shall have to give them a ring tomorrow. Well annoying though, i need a new phone desperately, on my current one the speaker has broken so i cant hear what anyone says when they ring me :\
 
going into the shop on saturday to have a play with it, and the N97,iPhonesGs and i8910 Samsung one, to see what i like.
 
I'd get an iPhone but I'm shackled to Vodafone for the immediate future, so I'm looking at alternatives to replace my SE K850i. At the moment I'm looking at the HTC Magic, but thanks for bringing this to my attention. It looks like a very nice piece of kit.
