Don't hold out too much hope. The s60 browser has been doing this for a loooooong time. It annoys me so much. My N96 does this all the time randomly. It just breaks a lot.

I was told in the shop charge for 14 hrs, have aways been advised that the 1st charge is the most important as that sets up the battery to hold the best charge.

You should not fully discharge lipos if possible. The "myth" with the full discharge lives from the ages of ni-mh and ni-cd batteries.
Full discharge is not possible usualy since it's blocked by the phone though.

Ni-mh and ni-cd are memory batteries so if you charge whithout a complete discharge you loose duration from the battery life.

Dis any of you guys check java apps?
I've read that samsung didn't allocate enough heap memory to the java virtual machine, so some apps and games can't run/run crappy...

Mine was on the last bar for hours while playing a movie and it did eventually ask to be recharged lol.

You need to sign some apps with a developer certificate so it works on the phone... this is the reason you got the error
