EDIT: So far everything seems to be fine, excpet one thing: the full screen QWERTY keyboard doesnt work and not the handwriting recognition.

now thats really not nice, I have done a hard reset and a soft reset and formatted everything, and nothinh helps this issue

apart from that, the new firmware is just great and has a bunch of new features!

Did my phone this morning, firstly put the italian firmware on, then upgraded to the latest italian firmware using pc studio.

Its well worth it.
I havent got any issues with the full screen keyboard or handwriting recon, both of these are working fine.
 
Yea, finally after 2 flashes everything is working smoothly

had to reinstall the old intalian version once and the new once again, then I got a JTAG Debugging error every few minutes and the phone restarted, so I flashed the old italian again and upgraded it, then everything went fine

I love the new FW, its great with the AAC, the high speed and all new features

Good work Samsung
 
Just trying to sort out getting hold of an XP licence key, then I'll be creating a partition and updating to the new firmware too. Can't wait!

Ah yeah, didn't think of that, haven't installed a windows OS in a while, so could I install VMWare and XP without a key at all? Then just do the update on the "30 days remaining to activate" message thing?

Just flashed and updated my phone. Wen't fine and seems to have improved speed of phone and browser seems to render pages quicker. Just noticed that the number of widgets available has dropped and Google search and Weather have vanished. Anyone else noticed this?
 
Well, the new firmware is great, but I noticed just one thing.
When I press Stop to stop a page from loading, the browser closes as if I pressed the Exit button.
Dont know whats wrong, anyone else having this?

Mine did this even before the update so don't think it's due to the update. Just need to let the page load which isn't always great. It's not a Symbian thing either as my N96 and N97 didn't do this so looks like a Samsung quirk.
 
Does this fix the damn resizing problem? And might anyone suggest where I can get good widgets from? The world block and calculator offerings are kind of lame

Thanks for clearing that up, I thought it was just my phone.
I had it just fine with the Orange firmware, but nevermind as long as it works.

I didnt use the iPhone for more than a few minutes.
but I love my phone - i8910, I like the symbian in it, like the HD with the new AAC codec, lots of RAM.

Its pretty good I would say, worth it in my opinion
