The secret to mashed potatoes

The best mash I have made has been from baked potatoes rather than boiled ones.

Bake the potatoes in the oven until they are really cooked through. Cut the potatoes in half, scoop out the cooked potato, mash, butter and season and eat :)
 
cook, add milk, butter, salt and pepper THEN mash.

The amount of people that mash then add, tut tut tut

Cook in salted water till soft

I add butter, or an egg (which I got of Gorden Ramsey), or normal Philadelphia, but its defo butter/ marge, salt and pepper ALWAYS before I mash

I have to say I also get a fork and stir the mash up quickly once i have mashed them up to fluff them together and up if they are going as a side...otherwise not if they are going to be a topping :)
