You aint ugly are you!
good pic :]

Just taken with my 400D - I too have large hands (piano hands as my wife calls them) so the already small 400D looks really diddy :p

Intentionally semi-silhouetted and pale of colour :)

Me :p

And no that isnt a 350D in the shot, my hands are actually big enough to make a gripped 40D with a 10-20 look that small O_o

I recognise that room :D

Took this the other night when playing about with the new gear.

Needed a new one for my facebook account the other week, and this was the result!

As a noob to photography, how the hell is this done?

Tripod, low ISO, silly long exposure and then some photoshop to tidy it up?

How do you get a black backdrop without using photoshop or a obvious black background?

think about it Peter, the light is coming from the other side sort of from the left of where he's looking which lights the other side of his face up, and this side remains dark, then from the exif data...

# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/80 second = 0.0125 second
# Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 22/10 = F2.2
# Exposure Program = manual control (1)
# ISO Speed Ratings = 200

The black background will be due to a dark room.
It really is that simple.

Was just a lucky shot really, was taking random ones for my facebook. Was sitting in my chair holding my camera at arms length and just shooting. It only looked decent once I processed it on lightroom though really.

I know, I tried doing it but couldn't :p

Then again I wasn't using Lightroom.

Also I don't have an F2.2 lens :( Only F4.
