The Simpsons Arcade *Feb 8th now*

Because the original version was overrated as well then all they have done is add trophy support. The graphics are terrible and the sound is worse.

The graphics are on par with most games from that year. I'm not saying it's the best looking arcade game from that time but I wouldn't say it's rubbish. I preferred Turtles. In the arcade I used to use, they replaced the Turtles machine with simpsons after a year or 2. I liked the Simpsons game but still preferred Turtles. In terms of being over-rated, I can't think of anywhere that arcade games were rated at the time. It was purely down to what me and mate thought when we were playing it.

Back then there were loads better games to play.. I too have a complete MAME collection and i think i have played Simpsons once. Like you said turtles was a lot better. Its just preferance my 10ps would have gone on Shinobi, Wardener, Legendary Hero Tonma, Toki, Ikari Warriors, Golden Axe, Altered beast to name a few... ;) And the reason i say it looks sooo bad is i recently got Golden Axe free on the PSN+ and that is from the same era and that looks a fair bit better than the simpsons.

One day rights will finally be sorted and Maximum Carnage will get a re-release.

Until then I will just have to stick with my SNES!

Back on track... I bought Simpsons as it is a classic, and even with the dated graphics its still fun to play with friends around!

I've got golden axe on the xbox 360 arcade. I remember there were 2 versions of that at the arcades. The real version and then there was a megadrive version in a machine that had about 10 megadrive games. Turtles is probably my favourute arcade game of all time. When I first saw it, it was the animation of the characters and the fact that it alternated between 3-4 attack animations rather than just having the same 4 frames. I used to like Robocop even though it's a pretty limited game. Also, I always like Crude Buster (two crude dudes) It was only last week that me and my mate finished that on MAME. The same mate that I used to play Turles with in 1989:p

I suppose I just like it because it's a game I used to play.
