The Sims 3 Delayed

The only things I enjoy about the Sims games is spending so much time building and decorating my own house/apartment. I never really bother with the "Soap Opera" controlling life aspects of the humans part. Its just all about the house for me :D.

The Sims is awesome!...for designing houses.

+1 :D

According to Russell Arons, Vice President of Marketing at EA, "The June launch combined with the break-through game the team is building gives us the perfect runway to create awareness for The Sims 3. [It] will be the original IP summer blockbuster of 2009 as we build off the success of the best-selling PC franchise of all time to create awareness with both loyal Sims fans and new players."
Errrrr, I thought "original IP" meant new game?

I don't even class the Sims as a game tbh :)
So what, you wouldn't class Sim City, or other management games as games either, because you have no direct control?

The Sims is awesome!...for designing houses.
Yes yes yes, this.

I have nothing against The Sims, but the constant stream of addons is sickening, mind you if people are stupid enough to buy them then I guess it can be put into making better games.

I'm on the biggest fan of Sims.... but if your plain bored what better to do than play a bit of the sims, i know quite a few that love this game and for a few weeks have been yelling to high heaven how excited they are about "the sims 3" coming out as been "pre-booked" and all that, i guess.... when i see them with their heads down i know they found out the news :O
Poor.Sims.Will.Have.To.Wait.A.Few.More.Months.Too.Be.Played!

I'm pretty sure there'll be plenty of expansions out in the meantime to keep people occupied.

I mean, come on. It's not like Sims fans are starving of content now, is it?

I'd say that was a pretty good reason.

If I don't like something, I don't automatically presume its not very good, just not to my taste.

"that sucks because I don't like it" is a poor attitude to have.

A lot of people like playing the Sims, If I remember correctly its the highest selling video game, and The Sims 2, generally was received well by critics.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't make it bad.

This isn't aimed at anyone in particulur but I Dunno what this stigma is that people have for the Sims franchise...it's more of a game than some of the rubbish we see.

Lots of gamers (myself included) don't like the lack of objective in the game, there is no ending to it, no boss or level end in sight to aim for.
