will i need a leopard disc to get snow leopard ?

if you get the upgrade version you need to have Leopard installed first so that Snow Installation can detect it. You then you can either upgrade Leopard to Snow or do a Fresh Install.

Has £19 been confirmed or is this being calculated on the current exchange rate? Isn't the usual rule of thumb for the UK, $=£ regardless of exchange rate!

UK pricing hasn't been confirmed yet, common feeling is that it'll be somewhere between £19 and £25 ish.

I'm thinking of selling my precious White MacBook and getting a MacBook pro...

...are Apple going to be releasing any new versions of the MacBook pro anytime soon before I buy?

Yup, only the price for Leopard. Need to buy a full retail copy for $129 (I think) or you can buy Snow Leopard, iLife and iWorks in one box for $169. Don't know what the UK prices will be though.

Don't quote me on this but I think they are selling the snow leopard box set for £129 with those iLife + iWork apps instead of the $169 price and the $129 prices, its just a bundle for upgraders, probably because their iLife suite form their Mac may have issues on the newer OS, either way its a good deal but I think that I am right?

The only people who can answer this question accurately are Apple.

Considering that they've only just released new models, I doubt it.

I will probably get a bigger & faster 320 GB HDD to replace my slow 120 GB when I buy Snow Leopard upgrade. I was looking at some SSDs but since 320 GB HDD is only about £50, I just can't see myself forking out £££ for smaller SDD.

I want an SSD but its got to be able to fit Windows on too and 40Gb is tooooo small.

300Gb Velociraptor wins for quite a while yet!

Really wish the MP had 8 HDD slots tho :(

I ordered a standard MacBook in April this year? (Is that the model your talking about or have they released another model after that?

I don't have a machine that came with Leopard, so I don't get the nice cheap upgrade price, but I think I might still buy it.

whats the best way of getting the upgrade ??? are they releasing it on disc  or is it via the update system
