Has anyone else come across a bug regarding screen locking? I have my system set to prompt for a password when exiting the screen saver. This morning I managed to knock off the screen saver and instead of getting a black background with the login prompt, I got the login prompt but the desktop was clearly visible in the background. Worse still, I could interact with it! I had no resistance manipulating windows and even launching programs! All this without having entered any password.

I have no third party desktop tweaks or window management/dock modifications running. Aside from running Firefox, Messenger and Spotify it's all vanilla.

I've tried to reproduce it but with no luck so far, I just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing because it's pretty bad.

Not exactly the most advanced Mac OS user as i've only recently changed over from windows. In a nutshell, with a macbook white, is it worth upgrading?

Logitech control centre isn't 64bit supported :( I can't use any of the extra buttons on the mouse, even the free wheel on the Revolution doesn't work ! :(

There's a fix for the MX Revolution in Snow Leopard. It's just a case of downloading the latest Logitech Control Center download, opening the zip file and right clicking 'Show Package Contents' on the Installer file:

Then following the path of: Contents > Resources > Logitech Control Center.mpkg

This just bypasses the 'OS Checker' that Logitech are using and should mean you can map the buttons on your mouse again. I've tried it and have had no problems.

Cheers, just checked and in the Kind Column it says Intel (64-bit) so I guess it is. Love the fact you can type "Activity Monitor" into the magnifying glass and it finds it.

Earlier this week, news got out that Apple was shipping an outdated version of Adobe's Flash Player with Snow Leopard; if you updated to a more recent version before the upgrade to Snow Leopard, you would receive a downgrade. This older version had security holes in it, so Adobe advised everyone to upgrade. Source

Its here! YAY :D
/Installs on MP first.

Excellent.. 45 minutes of peace and quiet :p :D

Actually the change to the dock where you click and hold down causes the windows to be displayed is really useful. I have the windows minimise to the apps now rather than the dock which makes the dock less cluttered.

Zen Dockism for the win :D

I can't believe it.

Snow Leopard has the bug then knew about in Leopard with some DVI monitors SINCE APRIL.

:(

Getting so close now to buying a new monitor, if that 27" Dell didn't have that input lag I'd grab it up.

Edit: Pretty dam quick. However... my hard disks arn't showing on the desktop. wtf...

That's a bit of an arse. Running a NEC 20WGX2 with my MBP using the VGA line through a DVI-VGA adaptor, not tried the DVI input as that's attached to the old PC.

edit: just tried the DVI input with the MBP, it works.

Its the 4870 in the 2009 Mac Pro which is the issue.

I don't have the money for a Hazro atm but I don't get paid for a month yet :/

And fixed the HD issue, some reason the setting was off by default.

Congrats! Still waiting on mine :( Did you do a fresh install?

Yup.

Although with my home folder on a different disk its causing me PAIN.

Although im sure i'll get there eventually.

Edit: RIGHT.

My GOD its quicker to shut down and restart!

Home folder moved, iTunes, Safari and Mail how they should be... (and you guys wonder why I left a whole DAY to do this lol!)

Which DVI monitor bug is that? I'm having issues with a DVI monitor, but I'm not sure of the cause. It won't let me calibrate - says that a profile is missing or something?
