The Social Gathering / Gaming Thread [A place to organize meet-ups]

I still can't buy anything from the Oculus Store. It's been 11 days since I least heard from Meta support. What they said then was that they were looking into it. The payment method I am using for Meta is the payment method that I bought the Quest 3 headset with.

I have been doing my own research on the problem and there are good few reports on Meta and Reddit with people having the exact same issue. They can't buy anything and can't add any payment methods. Some people have been waiting over a year for a fix. I have tried all the ad-hoc solutions that people have suggested. None worked.

Giving support until the end of the week to solve the problem. If they can't fix it by then, I am going to return the headset.

I won't be buying a different headset either. So will probably be out of VR for a foreseeable future unless Meta's support comes good.

Can you buy games via the website?

If you were in the UK I'd have no problem lending you my Index but shipping it across to Ireland could be problematic and expensive.

Have been moaning at them for 15 days straight now :( They stopped responding 11 days ago with "we are looking into this and will get back to you"

I was only pretending to swear at golf balls, I was actually swearing at you lot :p

Nope, can't buy games from anywhere that's Meta. I even tried removing all payment methods and adding new ones or the same Paypal account. And couldn't. That's the same Paypal account that I used to buy the Quest 3 headset, I can't even add that back. It says there is a problem with your request. But doesn't give any more details.

Ah mate, thanks very much for the offer. But I am still waiting for you to gift the 25 games you promised. :p:cry:

Seriously though, if I was only interested in PCVR I would just keep the Quest 3 and play. But I want to play the games that are out now like Dungeons of Eternity and the new ones that are coming that are going to be Meta Exclusive. I didn't buy many games this year because I was waiting for the Quest 3 to come out and play them on there for that for the first time. Waiting for sales etc.

So if support doesn't/can't fix the issue, I will return the Quest 3 and put the money towards getting a new GPU next year. Hopefully it won't come to that. Will miss the weekly immature hangout session :)
 
have you tried doing a more public route like Twitter ?
i cant remember what it was, but i resorted to twitter in the end , the company soon sent a response, as going public knew they would get a lot of bad press otherwise, so its crucial they responded

worth a try

I don't have Twitter or X or whatever it's called now and won't be opening an account on it either.
