Somehow I have managed to miss all of this.

I've watched the pilot episode, now it seems abit slow , does it get any better ??

Also does it continue to tell the the story in the same way I.e through him talking through the shrink??

Basically what im asking is it worth carrying on watching ??

Easily without a shadow of a doubt my favourite TV program, (apart from family guy)

Does it get better? Just a bit!

It doesn't tell the story through the shrink no, but she is a significant part of the series.

Its got everything, sex, humour, violence, excellent characters.

Tbh if you didn't like the pilot then you probably won't like the other episodes. IMO it's the greatest TV series ever (apart from the ending lol), but if you don't like it then that's fine too - it's all subjective in the end.

Tony's sessions Dr Melfi are an important part of the story, but events happen away from her surgery in later episodes. It's more a case of you see events happen, then hear Tony talking about them in the sessions.

Edit: about it being slow, then yes it is. This isn't a 2 hour long film where the cram as much action in as possible. It's about the interaction between different characters and the building up of tension before action is taken.

Watch the first 4-6 episodes and then decide. It might not be for you but I reckon you'll start to like it.

When I rewatched all the series the pilot does have a different feel to it as do a lot of pilots from other shows.

It is brilliant. I've yet to meet anyone who has watched a few episodes say they don't like it.

Ok i'll give 6 ep's fingers crossed really want to like it

I bet you will :)

I got the first season for xmas and have been hooked on it since, nearly finished the 4th season now. Brilliant show and it doesn't seem to have any bad "filler" episodes like a lot of other shows (lost, prison break etc).

Watched 5 ep's now its just getting started , think i'm gonna like it gonna be a busy lad what with p break starting soon and lost Woop Woop

Yeah The Sopranos is quite slow paced but I think its because of this you really get to know the characters.

I've got series 1 to 5 on DVD, I'm going to start from series 1 again and pick up the final series between now and hitting the tail end of series 5. The problem is time as I've also got series 1 & 2 of 24, Deadwood series 1 & 2 (2 episodes in to the first series so far), NYPD Blue AND Las Vegas series 1 & 2 sat on the shelf... and then we get to the stack of films still shrink wrapped :o

I got into it quite late, just before season 7 started. Best TV show ever IMO and better than the majority of films I have seen. I borrowed seasons 1 - 6 from a mate and watched them all in the space of a few weeks.

This thread reminds me though, I need to check out The Wire

I got so bored half way through season 4 I had to stop watching it.

It's like, nothing ever happened.

The Wire is so much better.

While I think the Sopranos never gets to a stage where it's not worth watching (it's definitely in my top ten TV series), this man speaks the truth about The Wire.

the sopranos is easily the best thing America have ever made in regards to television drama.

...and in second place, quincy.

no j,k:D
