I'm on the second to last epsiode and its bloody amazing. Its a shame I am finally finishing the box set, its been a epic Journey, but it seems the family are getting whacked left right and centre.

The Sopranos is probably the greatest TV show ever. I loved the way such a reprehensible character, and lets be honest Tony Soprano was a monster, could become such a hero.

Personally i thought The Wire was significantly better than The Sopranos. I loved The Sopranos but The Wire is another beast entirely. I am a sucker for social commentary though

The Sopranos and The Wire are both as awesome as each other imo................oh, along with Dexter too.

What happened in the end? I thought it was either the feds filling the place or he was going to get whacked. Good conslusion to the programme though.

Last episode is a joke tbh...it's obvious what the very end means but was not a satisfying conclusion at all...The Wire and The Shield had epic endings...Sopranos was a bit...meh!

The Pines episode with that russian was one of my favourite Sopranos episodes.

Also Uncle Junior was an amazing character.

Simply awesome show, enjoyed from start to end, Pauly & Slivio are two of the greatest characters I've seen in any TV show tbh.

I personally thought the ending of the show was perfectly pitched.

I agree. I missed the last half-series when it was on TV, but bought and finished the whole boxed set a month or so ago. I was prepared for a bit of a disappointment, but the last episode felt right to me, and the ending is genius.

Annoying, but still genius.

PS To the OP, moving on to The Wire is a very good idea. I didn't think I'd ever enjoy anything more than Sopranos, but I was wrong.

This, this and this. The Wire was epic, majestoc, and probably the best program I have ever watched in my life. The Shield also picked up after a few series, and went on to possibly the best ending of any series I have ever seen in my life.

The Sopranos was brilliant though, and in the same class. So many good series out there!
