Just a quick question... Since I have been running my old PC next to my iMac I thought the iMac was pretty close to silent.

Now that the PC is not here to make any noise, I do hear the iMac. Can you confirm that the iMac indeed makes a faint ticking noise - almost like the sound from an old 8 mm film projector or something?

Just curious and nothing else :)

Yeah it's probably just the fans... I need to add my ear all the way down to the base of the monitor before I can hear it... Still it sound a little humming / ticking / spinning..

Oh well I reckon it's normal :)
 
all i hear on mine is the faint sound of the fans............and sometimes,oddly enough,the sound of the stone roses at full blast:)
