Thought it was about the time to start a thread about the new Stormlight book. It is due out on November 14th and I'll certainly be pre-ordering it!

From Good Reads -

In Oathbringer, the third volume of the New York Times bestselling Stormlight Archive, humanity faces a new Desolation with the return of the Voidbringers, a foe with numbers as great as their thirst for vengeance.

Dalinar Kholin’s Alethi armies won a fleeting victory at a terrible cost: The enemy Parshendi summoned the violent Everstorm, which now sweeps the world with destruction, and in its passing awakens the once peaceful and subservient parshmen to the horror of their millennia-long enslavement by humans. While on a desperate flight to warn his family of the threat, Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with the fact that the newly kindled anger of the parshmen may be wholly justified.

Nestled in the mountains high above the storms, in the tower city of Urithiru, Shallan Davar investigates the wonders of the ancient stronghold of the Knights Radiant and unearths dark secrets lurking in its depths. And Dalinar realizes that his holy mission to unite his homeland of Alethkar was too narrow in scope. Unless all the nations of Roshar can put aside Dalinar’s blood-soaked past and stand together―and unless Dalinar himself can confront that past―even the restoration of the Knights Radiant will not prevent the end of civilization.

Words of Radiance ended in a pretty epic way. I'm very much looking forward to the next volume. Sanderson's world-building has been excellent so far and I'm excited to see him build on it.

Originally, I thought it was going to be focused on Szeth, but I'm not sure that is the case now looking at what has been revealed about the book...Tbh, I'm good with that as I'm not sure I'm that bothered about a Szeth-focused book.

Anyone else looking forward to it?

Here is a link to the thread for the previous book btw - https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...words-of-radiance-possible-spoilers.18574441/

I'll be getting the kindle version. Words of Radiance hardback was a huge tome, I suspect Oathbringer will be the same. Can't be arsed to carry that around with me!

I don't have much time these days for pleasurable things like reading, that and the fact I'm a slow reader, this book will keep me going for ages :)

Sanderson, I can take or leave. BUT I love these books! Very much looking forward to the third one.

It's funny, my first experience of Sanderson was the Mistborn Trilogy and after that I was sold on him hook, line and sinker. I feel that he has a masterful way with story planning that weaves a complex tale that all comes together in the end in ways you don't expect. Now I just wish the next Locke Lamorra book would just hurry up and get written!

Pre ordered the digital version. Do like Sandersons world creation, find it different to the usual fantasy stuff.

If you didnt know, about 30 chapters have been published, a few per week, on Tor website. They are not that long so just give a good intro really. :)

I've timed this perfectly, started re-reading them from the start and am currently at 85% of the second book so should finish in time for the release tomorrow.

Great series and I can't wait to see how it goes.

Started it tonight. Got right back in to it. Chapter seven is pretty awesome.

I'd say that spoilers are OK so long as you put the chapter number in-

I was waiting for Kaladin to show up...and once he gets home he doesn't waste any time! I think the chapter is very well written and the last bit is just awesome:D... "By the way it's the end of the world, I can fly and I've got to go kill some monsters. Be back soon". Starts glowing and flies off!

I got called in to do a night shift tonight and tbh I didn't mind as it gave me the chance to get to grips with this.
