Is This It - Awesome.
Room on Fire - Just as good.
First Impressions of earth - meh, I wanted to like it but it was simply disappointing.

Are they recording a 4th album?:(

Wikipedia says yes

The Strokes have annouced that they are currently planning to release their fourth studio album and follow up to First Impressions of Earth in 2009.[4]

I have to say, The Strokes are one of those bands my whole body simply refuses to like.

Saying that the new scene that has spawned from the popularity of The Strokes has meant some really, really seriously bad music has come out - so they are no longer the bottom of my list. I was listening to a new music session on Radio 1 last tuesday, and a man / band was being interveiwed.. god damn.

That was the worst music I have ever heard in my life. I see what is admirable about the strokes in places (it was a huge breath of fresh air and a release from stale nu metal) but the bands which have come out since, with their non existant song structure "I made this in one minute" songs, can only make me hate them more.

I have tried to like them I really have.

Horses for courses.

Is This It? and Room on Fire are both albums I can listen to without skipping a track. I can't say that about many of my albums actually. PF-DSOTM and TSR-TSR are a couple..

As said above, First Impressions of Earth was naff.

Who are these spawned bands then?

Love The Strokes to bits! Maybe not the most incredibly amazing band ever but certainly a band who make me happy. I'd love to see them live so I hope they hurry up and finish their album.

Albums go like this for me:

Room on Fire > Is This It > First Impressions of Earth
