The sensor was only exposed for 1/800 sec. More of a problem for the shutter, if at or near the plane of focus.
)Don't look at the sun through your camera, even if you have a ND filter on. The ND filter will stop a lot of light, but will still let through UV rays which can toast your eyes.


Good point. I'd forgotten about liveview.But if it was composed using liveview, wouldn't that expose the sensor to the toasty rays of concentrated sunlight for a deal longer than the 1/800 exposure time of the final capture?
