Ahhh it's Sunday. The day of rest. The day for sitting in your pants till after noon, in your monogramed dressing gown while quaffing endless amounts of English tea and eating a full English breakfast. Naturally, the Sunday papers spread out on the coffee table. Roast dinner cooking away in the oven, the air filled with the aroma of beef, yorkshire pudding and veggies.

Mrsyoustolemyname and I started reminiscing about childhood and how Sundays were one of the worst days (school the next day) and also one of the best- quality telly like Bullseye, early morning cartoons and Knight Rider. Sundays also meant one of your pals coming over and acting out the latest episode of Knight Rider with your toys, or for her My Little Pony. Sensing she was getting a little broody, and feeling the blood draining from my face, I quickly diverted her to the interwebnet.

'Lets see what nostalgia we can dig up' Both of us being children of the 80 and early 90s there was bound to be a wealth of stuff to keep us amused. And keep her mind off producing littlestoleyournames.

So, OcUKers...what did your childhood mean to you? What toys, Tv shows, sweets, bikes, games etc etc define the most innocent years of your life. Doing 'ghosties' on your Raleigh Burner? Tangoing kids in the playground? Buying flaming hot jaw-breakers and seeing how many you could cram in your mouth before suffering 3rd degree burns?

I found a few sites but would love you to share any other nostalgia sites with me.

Interesting subject actually. When I was in high school I hated sundays due to always thinking "ah its school 2moro" also. Since leaving school my perception of sundays has changed a lot though due to relishing what little time I have off now to pursue hobbies etc

What did we used to do on a sunday, back in the days when nothing but the corner shop and the garden centres were open. :eek:

wasn't the tv much better then, bring back the good old days :D

i used to go to my grandads house and he'd play them daft tricks (pretending to pull your nose off etc), and i'd watch stuff like rainbow, pob, poddington peas and my favourite was Terrahawks, i'm always remeniscing about the good old days before the internet when people used to actually play out and not worry about being snatched etc, climbing trees and breaking the odd limb or 2, and NOT sueing the council coz the branch was in the wrong place.

The internet and the compensation culture has made us a world full of scaredy cats. :(

Land of the Giants, American Football on Ch4 later, The Wonder Years, having a bath then bed. Hated that 'School tomorrow' feeling, I still have it only it's 'Work tomorrow'. :)

Going shopping on 'Base' (USAF base), Narnia on BBC2, baguette pizzas, then moaning about having to go to swimming training.

Now its hangovers and pub quiz!

Um... you'll have to enter the *OMG!* world of the 70s */OMG!*...

* Terrahawks
* Battle of the Planets
* Starfleet
* Superstars
* Kickstart
* A Team
* Airwolf
* Street Hawk
* Manimal

I remember a sweet shop with... laces, GOBSTOPPERS! (including the hot one), ...
