From another forum:

Exec 1: Right we need something to compete with this stop the clock thingy vodafone have got going on that customers are leaving us for
Exec 2: OK how about naming our tariffs after animals. Everyone likes animals
Exec 1: But shouldn't we focus on giving the customer what they want and providing value and services to compete with the other networks. And while we are at it orange value promise is in need of a revamp
Exec 2: Quiet you!

Yeah 'tis slick :)

They're still having stock trouble I gather - which is why I went and got it from a shop that I knew had some :D I'd advise against going in around lunchtime on a Saturday though, their account system is shot to death and doesn't like being busy...

Now that i am back after the quick suspension for the mini review i did (lol), this phone is great! i'm loving it! :D

I ordered one online but waited 2 days to be told not in stock, just rang my local t-mobile and they have it in stock so also means I now get the 25% discount which I wasnt getting with the online e-railer

hope my credit card has enuff on it for them to verify it :P

last time I checked was way over limit :(

Surely the pro is better in the sense that with web n walk you can browse at 3 g speeds or is the vario 3g?

Sure, the Pro is technically better - but it sure is ugly! Also it's a large size which looks really daft when you hold it up to your ear to make/answer a call :p

Horses for courses, innit. I love my Vario :)

I've had my vario for about 4 months now and really like it.
The only criticism I have of it is that it has a very slow cpu, @195mhz. This means that I can't use Tomtom speed camera overlays as it just drags the performance right down.

I love the look of this ophone, my contract with three ends in 3 months so I am looking at taking a contract out with T Mobile now then downgrading my price plan on three. What price plan would be the best for me? My average mobile bill is about £300 a month as I talk and text a lot so I need a plan that offers a lot of minutes and text.

If you got 3 months on the contract left I'd hold out and wait for the MDA Vario II.

My contract is up with Orange and the Vario II is what I'm waiting for. Unfortunately, by doing this I'll be missing out on the current 25% discount offer currently on FlexT contracts.:(

How many texts/minutes are you going through a month on you're current plan?

FlexT 75 at the current £56.25 a month offer looks ok (normally £75). You get a £390 allowance and can use up on all texts, all calls or a combination of both.

All calls would give 1950 minutes, all texts would give 3900.

Also check out the Web 'n' Walk contracts. For £61.88 a month, you get all of the above plus unlimited web useage. On offer and normally £82.50 a month.
