Suspect in fact he put an offer in for a house (then post on internet "I've bought a house"), offer was accepted - went to IFA to sort Mortgage - application rejected.

He didnt need to make up stupid stories to fit in. There are people form all sorts of backgrounds on here and we all fit in fine. Most of us don't own houses!

Maybe he didnt want to fit in, he wanted to come across as being better?

This forum is harsh at times but if you are honest you'll always do ok. The epic threads and the picking apart only happens when people smell lies and inconsistencies and stuff that just doesnt make sense.

All the 'epic threads' revolve around BS. All of them. All the big 'finance' threads are because the OP misrepresents something, etc etc.

Honesty never really turns into an epic.
 
This thread is funny, I mentioned it too my housemate who used to live on the IoW and got about as far as Focus ST when he guessed I was talking about Mike. It would seem he has a reputation for this kind of thing.

Of course, its evident that telling a somewhat glorified story has sparked the senses of the ocuk motoring forum resulting in.. ''this''.

It is harsh at times, but you will never please everyone one, a clash of opinions can normally turn into an interesting debate. Ending up in a situation where anothers opinion is stronger than anothers, is a time where you should agree to disagree.... not lie lol
 
Id like to know what happened on the day of the test drive.

Was it the extra £500 that killed the deal?
